this thing have any real use with cars w/ LS6 intakes? I mean i can see the usage with '98-'00 cars b/c the of the way the PCV hose is attached to the intake, but wasn't part of the reason they have the LS6 intake to address the oil in combustion chamber issue? Is this usefull to me? I just don't want to clutter up my engine bay with (more) useless b/s...

the ls6 intake wasnt the part revised to help lessen oil consumption.

the valley cover, under the intake, was the part revised on the real ls6 engines. On those the PCV system collects from the lifter valley instead of from the valve covers.

You might want to try one of the later truck LS motor pcv valves. I switched to that and it pulled in less oil but still got some. So I put in an inline fuel filter and that seems to have almost eliminated it completely. It's the glass one so I can see if the oil is accumulating and there's a little bit, but not enough to even need to empty it out.

The revised Vented oil fill cap helps in some situations when used with the newer valve design, It helped on mine when I had a pcv system..
The Vented oil fill cap is gm part #12589430
And fixed orfice pcv valve is gm# 12572717
