Fuel Guage problem

Everytime i start my car the needle is below E. Once i start driving it slowly goes up to where its supposed to be. i was idling waiting for inspection and it dropped to E. Started driving again, it went up. WTF is going on? Fuel sending unit bad or loose connection?

Sounds like a sending unit problem to me. My '97 GTP had a similar issue (bad sender) but the gauge went all the way to F instead of E.

I would check your grounds first as it's the cheapest but then start looking into a sender.

how come it fixes itself slowly when i drive? I thought if its bad its just gonna stay on E forever

Could be only when the sender is in a particular position. That's how mine was.

will it eventually just die completely

Not sure. Mine was like that for two years. But it's something you want to get fixed. You don't want to run out of gas somewhere.
