Third Gen Hatch Problem
Ok so i opened my hatch and now its stuck in the down position and wont latch....have tried many options...any hints...clues?
|
use your key or power release button (if equipped) to unlock it and the motor will raise the assembly to the open position. Then gently shut the hatch.
|
yea tried that..no luck motor must be shot...but thanks alot

ditch all that electric stuff and use hood pins to secure your hatch down! it wont open up on you or get stuck on accident, plus u shave like 3.5 lbs
|
so you are saying that after you opened the hatch, to motor lowered itself into the "closed position" while the hatch was still up?
they do this sometimes, happened to me a couple times You need to get a screwdriver and put it into the motors pulldown claw, like how the hatches bar would be sitting in it, and fiddle with it while you turn the key. there is a little lever in there somewhere that the hatch bar would be touching and you need to push it down with the screwdriver so the latch thinks the hatch is down. Then it will open up back up. I think i lost myself typing this, its a little hard to explain, but its a common issue. You just have to remember to hold the hatch down while you are closing it until you are sure the latch has closed around the bar on the hatch ________ FIX PS3 |
thanks for the tip, but i tore it all apart today to discover all the plastic pieces inside were busted and it must have caused the motor to fry....so im looking for either a whole new assembly or the standard non power latch....if anyone knows of any let me know....also i got some third gen bird parts for sale....T-tops with keys in good shape...pair of head light assembly's (silver tops) umm also might have some GTA tail lamps if i dont end up using em and some random trim pieces oh and a spoiler...kinda beat up on the edges but whatever

Top down solutions sells a pretty b.a. rebuild kit...
well worth it...especially if you tore it all apart. |
