Greetings from Taiwan!!!
Thats right everyone, I just flew in last night. There is a 13 hour difference, so everyones probably asleep right now in the states. Its so friggin cool here, and I will post some pics. I only walked around a litle last night, and I have three things to report.
1. Mitsubishi Mirage is called Mitsubishi Virage. 2. I saw a Chrysler Cirrus 3 there is a ratio of 100 to 1 of scooters to cars. It took 14 hours flying from San Francisco to get here. Why 14? I questioned that myself, I thought it was a straight shot over the Pacific, but actually, we flew up the coast to Alaska, jumped over to Siberia, and flew down the coast, goign around North and south Korea, and then flew above Japan. It was friggin gorgeous. Well I gotta go and see Taiwan, and later hopefully in the week, go up into the worlds tallest building and "pop" the question haha. peace everyone. |
Good Luck Jeff! Of course let us all know how it goes!

what are you doing there again? and if anyone wants to know, its actually a shorter distance if you travel up and over, in an arc, then it is to fly a straight line, because of the curvature of the earth.

last i heard, the shortest route between 2 points is a straight line |

EDIT: BTW, good luck! that's a really great way to pop the question :D |

exactly. youre going around a curve. a circle. find a globe, basketball, anything big and round. take a string or something flexible and pull it tight between 2 distant points around the center of the globe. that is the distance you have to fly to get from A to B. while holding the two ends of the string, pull the middle of the string up, to make an arc. now look at all the slack you have in the string. THAT is the shorter distance you can fly from A to B. class will be ending in 5 minutes kids. |
YAY!! Glad you got there ok....You have to let us know how everthing goes. :)
|
plus it's probably safer to fly closer to land.....in case of any problems.

1. I saw a few Lancer Evo's with this sweet looking front end that they come with here, it conforms with hte body better then the front ends we got here. 2. there are Peugeot's ( I like 206's) and skoda's 3/ America got jipped on the Focus. I saw a nasty looking one, way better then the ones we got. Oh and wear a diaper when riding in a cab here. We took a taxi to go to Neiwan, and some of the roads are about a car and a half wide, with ditches on either side, I swear for how fast he was going and what he did, I almost crapped myself. We need to get a couple of these taxi drivers and put them behind the wheel of some racecars, they would win everything lol. My girl likes stinky tofu, and for the longest time she tried to get me to eat it, she said it doesnt taste like it smells, just hold your nose....well I just have to say it does taste like it smells. I almost threw up right there in the market, but quick thinking pulled out her water. There are AWSOME foods here, like sweet potatoe with melted sugar on it, and this thing i call a potatoe chip stick. They cut a potatoe up into a continuous thinstrips that look like chips, but the whole potatoe stays connected. then they put it on a stick, unravel it and its about 2ft. high, and then cook it and put a seasoning on it. We got plum flavor and it ROCKS!!! its a beautiful country, but ill be honest, it is 2nd world in some area's. alright, I gotta go to my g/f's work and go pig out on some blueberry cheese cake, and some brown sugar latte's. |

Yes they are the Euro Version. They have both the standard front end Evo, and im tryign to get a picture, I saw another one today, but didnt have my camera with me, a more sleeker lookin evo, they are hotness. Today I saw a Chrysler LHS. two caddy's, what they call here Chrysler Neons instead of dodge or plymouth, and 4 door festiva's. Its awsome here.
