Headers and y-pipe...

Ok. My current edelbrock shorties are cracked and creating a nasty exhaust leak. I want to replace them with full lengths.

I was thinking either Hooker super comps and the corresponding y pipe or Pacesetter headers and y pipe. The hooker ones are tuned while the PS are not tuned. Price wise the PS are cheaper. Would tuned headers make that much of a differance?

the Hooker set up would run me about $717.
the PS would run me $416

What should I do?

I bought a Jeep to run around in due to gas and insurance. I also need to have the trans rebuilt cuz I have no 4th gr.

I have the pacesetters and they seem ok so far.

If you really want coated hookers, see what they cost to order directly from www.jet-hot.com

If you have the coin, I would go right for coated Super Comps. A nice set of headers, and with a Jet-Hot coating, they'll last practically forever (since Jet-Hot guarantees their coatings for life, if it starts to go bad, just send 'em back and they will be recoated for free).
