He has the stock tach, but is wondering A) what the stock rev chip is? B) How do you change said rev limiter? Tune? C) If he raises the rev limiter...will the new valves float at ~6500 rpm? Or will any other problems occur? D) If they will, what do you recommend for valves, etc? E) Tach recommendations? Thanks!!! |
I don't know what the stock rev limiter is, but he'll need a tune to change it. And he'll want a new tune for the cam anyway, so it's no biggie. If using the recommended valvetrain components with the new cam, valve float should not be an issue.
If he wants a new tach (not really necessary though, unless he plans on a lot of racing) just tell him to pick whatever series of Autometer gauges he likes the best and pick up the tach from that series that best suits his needs. If he doesn't want to spend that much, he can opt for a cheaper (and almost as good) Autogauge tach. - Justin |
You had to say your name twice? :P
