SORRY, NO TRANS AM
Quote from this weeks AutoWeek magazine. "Don't bother looking for a Pontiac Trans Am among the 12 new vehicles headed to Buick, Pontiac and GMC showrooms in the next 20 months. Automotive News reports that through Pontiac had lobbied for a sibling car to the Chevrolet Camaro, General Motor's plan to make Pontiac a rwd performance-car division may be SCALED BACK because of fuel-economy regulations. Translation: NO TRANS AM"! :moon:

Welcome to 2006
This has been talked about since the day the Camaro concept rolled in front of a camera. People still refuse to believe it though. |

I still get people on GMI that claim that its just a cover up, and that GM will make one.
It wont happen. Pontiac will get a lot of stuff, but a GTO or Trans Am probably wont be in the future. Pontiac will be what its been trying to do for years now...a poor mans BMW. Small balanced chassis, powerful 4 and 6 cylinder engines, short overhangs with athletic stance. In other news, G8 GT is mopping up the LX twins, and is matching SRT8 performance...and thats before GXP shows up with the LS3 and 6spd manual later this year. |
I would like to see one, but I know it won't come back.
