The head isn't dead!!!!

I took a trip to upstate NY yesterday to see what was going on with "project Dominion." For those that aren't familiar w/ what I'm doing, I have a set of very rare Dominion 32V LT1 heads. Pictures of the heads are below. I have a 396 CI engine being built with these heads by Bret Bauer at Bauer Racing. What is happening now is Bret wasn't happy with the port configuration, valve sizes, or rocker arm set up. So, he is basically changing all these areas so the heads will be much more efficient. The engine is still quite a ways from being done, but I'm impressed with his plans. And here is a link if anyone wants to see picts of the "ultimate" LT1 block I'm using.

Yeah, that was a loooong time ago. But then again, HEAD has been in my life since the last century...

Savage_Messiah 03-09-2008 03:59 PM

I have not yet had the priveledge of meeting HEAD

Savage_Messiah 03-09-2008 04:01 PM

so you got HEAD last century, gave HEAD to this guy in NY, and he's been working on improving your HEAD ever since?

WildBillyT 03-09-2008 04:31 PM

Bob,

Kudos to you for having the balls to attack a project like this, especially wallet-first. When it's done it will turn heads, that's for sure.

Thanks, Bill. Well, I really didn't/don't have a choice but work it through. I tried selling the stuff a few years back, and nobody even came remotely close to my price. So, it was "Dayum the torpedos, full steam ahead!"
I have a lot of faith in Bret's abilities to pull this project off. The stuff I saw at his shop yesterday blew my mind! It's taking time, but you as a car guy know that nothing comes easy. :)

The cavalier is where he gets the best HEAD. Nothing better than a good HEAD job in a rock solid Chevy. With the size of those ports, I think we will see some very nice HP numba's

Mike 03-09-2008 07:49 PM

ok you ruined it

I've seen said HEAD in person and it's a mighty badass sight. Can't wait for it to get done.
