<------User title that is...

Yeah, I did it again. After an entire season of only minor destruction last year (I think tearing the convertor through flywheel and taking out the starter was the best I got last year), I DESTROYED 3rd gear in the Z on the first day at a track in 2008. Was trying to hit 12s at Island, and according to 60' and 330 of that run, would have.. If 3rd didn't try to break my wrist. Now I have 4 cars, and all need something :banghead:

Dragster - Needs rods and pistons. probably will not run until then, simply because of my track record, and they have a good amount of runs on them. Engine builder said should be good for a few more months, I will NOT take chances with an engine that has been that good to me.
2002 Z - needs trans
79 - Needs to be disected, and possibly transferred into 81 that needs less resto work.
Jeep - Needs a new jeep

since you're relatively new-ish.. I don't believe you've seen my work.. Here's an album dedicated completely to my testing of the integrity of various parts on different cars. I have proven over and over that NOTHING is built "indestructible," but rather, can only be built "stronger than usual"

Nice job... not sure how you accomplish all the breakage though its one thing to have bad luck sometimes but yours really is continuous

cyl. wall collapsed in the burnout, right around 5500 rpm. Turns out stock big blocks cant handle 800 hp for a whole season  That's why I now run a chrysler MegaBlock.. and have a 2nd still on a palatte.

yeah, well.. when you think about it, I have MUCH MUCH more track time than anyone else, and when you continuously push parts to the limit, stuff is bound to fail. Those pictures are also ONLY of stuff after I got a digital camera. I have been blowing stuff up since I was in jr. dragsters.. Most of you guys only go to the track a few times a month at most. On occasion I have raced 3-4 days weekly, each day making 7-8 runs. This will be my 17th season on the track (including jr's, which I also managed to damage on occasion), and 9th season behind the wheel of a full size car, so I have a few thousand runs under my belt. In all honesty, when you think of it that way, 3 motors, 4 powerglides, 4 or 5 convertors, a clutch (dad's), a T56 and a wiring harness is really not that bad of a track record. I think.

qwikz28 03-16-2008 06:23 PM

 i haven't broken anything in my car, i'm obviously not driving it hard enough

trashman01 03-16-2008 06:37 PM

if you dont break anything, you didnt run it hard enough

not at all. there are guys who melt stuff down each run down the quarter, so you're not really pushing your equipment hard enough. with that small pile of parts, i'm surprised you have as many runs as you have. that must mean that you are building stern stuff. that's a good thing.

thats very true as well if you think about it that way but either way im not letting you break my car :moon:

bubba428 03-17-2008 01:41 PM

you have a skill.....to bad nothing survives,

racerz 03-17-2008 09:48 PM

its not a matter of being new-ish its understanding mechanics and preventive maintenence on my stuff. I've raced for 10yrs and fried a trans. Friend of mine runs a 7sec.dragster at Island and showed me the ropes. He ran points at other tracks for over 20yrs. Weekly inspections of equiptment pays off. But if u want to glory in ignorance be my guest. Because u brag about over a thousand runs makes u nooo better than anyone else out there.

Mike 03-17-2008 11:10 PM

dude, take a chill pill. the newish has nothing to do with track or racing, it has to do with being on the site and missing old posts. and if maintnence prevents everything how come so much **** breaks in the nhra pro classes?

you also asked for any negative posts that you recieved with your dumbass "women drivers" post.
