chrisfrom nj 03-18-2008 07:21 PM

your lucky its a starter

Slo86Bird 03-18-2008 07:21 PM

the bold that holds the starter in the first pic was like that when i went under the car so whoever changed it or messed with it forgot to tighten it back up. and bothe terminal leads broke off as u can see. but they broke when i went to remove the cables.

did it have the torque strap on the back of the starter or is that only on the 350's???

Needs one. My trans am used to break noses off those every year until I got a strap.

i think they are a standard option on all 350's but extra support cant hurt esp if you going high compression

BigAls87Z28 03-19-2008 08:58 AM

Ef that, I took it off my 72. Gotta drop as much weight off that thing as I can.

Owwwwwwwww

Untamed 03-19-2008 03:33 PM

Nah it's supposed to be like that. The Open Air Vented Starter was new in 2007....

98tadriver 03-19-2008 07:34 PM

lol that happened to my third gen. twice

68camaroguy 03-19-2008 07:59 PM

i dont think thats the problem.... lol its probably your ignition switch.....try re-wriring the whole car.......BUT DONT CHANGE THAT STARTER... i dont see a samn thing wrong with it...............lol ive done that twice b4 also. except mine tend to shatter into at least 4 or 5 big pieces

unstable bob gable 03-19-2008 11:14 PM

It's from that 19.5-1 compression the 305s had...

jims69camaro 03-21-2008 03:18 PM

that'll buff right out.

Knipps 03-21-2008 10:27 PM
