Spotted a new G8 GT today
Coming home today from work on the NY Thruway a red G8 GT passed me. Mostly saw it from the back, which kinda has the look/shape of an Audi A4, but much better looking. I couldn't tell if it was a dealer car, but it had NY plates on it. I guess we'll be seeing more of them on the road soon.

i didnt even know they were out already lol

I looked at the web site and noticed that you can not get a manual trans with one. Is this true?

i was traveling down in maryland for work and passed by a dealer than had one of first 888. The car came in the night before so it wasn't even prepped for the road. I got to check it all out and I loved it. Shame I couldn't take it for a spin.

I love them, people are whining about the lack of the Firebird and the demise of the GTO that didn't sell jack crap...this is a wonderful compromise. I just wish GM would actually market it...but once again they fail in that category. This car COULD shake up it's class..but the problem is that people may never stumble across it.

Yup, we've actually been offering tuning software for them for at least 2 weeks now and have several tunershops working to make some serious power with them.
I would love to have one but the timing isn't what I wanted it to be :( |
Just found out from the owners son at Miller Pontiac(in Woodbridge)that they are getting all of "14" of them for the ENTIRE model year, plus they can't even order what they want, they will just get what the factory will send them. Another BULLSIT production problem with the factory saying(HUGE WHINE HERE)we just can't build enough. What that says to the public is "GET READY TO PAY UP THE GAZZOO BECAUSE WE WILL ONLY BE GETTING A FEW"! :bs:

Well, you see, the domestic car makers finally figured out the concept of supply & demand that every other company already knows. If you flood the market with supply, the price drops. "Build it & hope" manufacturing is part of the reason the big 3 got in this mess and why the US market is addicted to rebates & discounts.
Now couple that with a sagging economy & high gas prices. Just go see your local Chevy dealer and look at all the trucks they can't sell now, even with ridiculous price cuts. Plus all those trucks sitting there cost them more $$ every day in the form of carrying costs. So big supply = less margin & increased carrying costs. Hmm, maybe GM shouldn't flood the current market with V8 cars right now. Let me know if you know someone who wants to actually buy a G8 and can't find one. Not just a tire-kicking gawker like me. |

if you even want to compare it to an older pontiac, it would me more like a bonniville, or a 4 door version of the GTO....but its not, its a new car |
im actually thinking of selling the bird and trading the truck in for one....
