Not what you expect when pulling a intake
 
So me and Rob-WS6 started to pull apart the motor from the 96 parts car we got a couple years ago. This engine ran great, and we never touched it until now.

Pulled the intake and these was a surprise inside......

yes it is.

hes around. just had a kid a few weeks ago so hes busy with the family mod.

it was obviously used to keep oil in the lifter valley so everything is already oiled on startup :lol:

that rag almost looks like it was put in there intentionally. it looks too perfectly spread out, i wonder if its some kind of old school racing trick :lol:

Im still alive... I can be caught lurking every now and again. 8-)

And Im pretty sure that who ever tried to fix the inherint lt1 intake oil leak put that there to protect agaings debris falling the the valley while scraping off the old gaskets and what not... how the hell they forgot about it is beyond me!

It def does look like it was purposely put there. I bet it adds 10 hp i mean come racing stickers do it why not a free rag

Yep it's an old school racing trick,adds 100 hp. lol,

motor is already stripped to the shortblock (which I am keeping). The heads w/ valvetrain, intake, ecm + wiring, timing cover with opti, (great for a vented conversion) are all up for sale.
