700R4 Shift Kit Installation/Price?
I was looking online at a general guide for shift kit installations, and it doesn't seem all that difficult. I don't have some of the tools they were using though (like the spring width measurement plyer looking thing), but figured I'd try this out to have more fun with my 305 until I get bored of it.
Since it doesn't look like much labor as well, I was wondering if anyone knows how much installation goes for for these kits. If it's fairly cheap, I won't even bother with it and drop it off to w/e recommended shop. |
the transgo my buddy bought years ago came with a video.
I got a B&M Improver Kit I got from NJSpeeder a long time ago that I never used. Basically need to drill out couple holes a little bigger from glancing the instructions. |
I was looking at the Transgo kit. Didn't know it came with a video, none of the sites I saw it on advertised it as such. I'm almost done saving up for a mess of things I have to do, and I'm trying to get this and an aluminum driveshaft in on it all since I have to remove those regardless.

Keeping things clean is the most important part of working with auto transmissions. Any dirt or debris gets in there and you'll be looking for a rebuild. If you don't mind taking the risk then it's not a tough job. Just don't take any shortcuts or rush and mess it up.

These are instructions & pictures for installing the kit in a 4L60E
The 700R4 is the same transmission except it isnt electronically controlled so they share basically the same internal parts.. This is what I used for reference http://www.inegma.net/mb/index.php?showtopic=3039 |
Sweet. I'll be bookmarking this for the B4C I'll be rolling in soon hopefully.
