Fade to black...

I was down at the bodyshop to check up on my AMX earlier, and the place was like AMC central. lol All hands were on deck sanding the areas of the body to be blacked out, and all removable parts were in the paint booth getting sprayed. I LOVE these guys...they actually remove parts from the car, and don't just use masking tape like it is going outa style. And they also are taking care of a lot of 'lil details that other shops might over look. My buddy there said that my car was prolly one of the more famous [or infamous ] one's they have worked on...people who knew it was there brought other people in to see it...and everybody wants to know where I race it. I told my buddy to tell 'em I race it on Main Street in Somerville. Everything looks good for me having it back by the end of the week. :headbang:

I took some shots w/ my camera phone...but what is so great about seeing guys sanding a body, or seeing my rear spoiler blacked out? I think the final product is what matters...

That's cool, Alex...but I think I'd rather have you do THE BIG PICTURE! I.E. shoot it when it is REALLY done, with the graphics finished and such.

I think I missed something. The sides will remain blue with the graphics, and the rest... flat black? Just curious after looking at the parts taped off.

JL8Jeff 05-13-2008 11:58 AM

Are you getting the rear done with a Berger panel?

U are correct. The hood, tops of fenders, and body seam around doors onto roof, and front bumper and front spoiler will be flat black. And around the rear window, the trunk lid, rear spoiler, taillight panel, rear bumper, and rear valance panel will also be flat black. The blue w/ graphics will remain on the sides and roof. I'm also going to have a number "1" done on the hood to match the sides, and a "T" stripe on the hood to match the flag graphics on the sides. It's gonna look sick. Chip Foose drew up the rendition of it when I was at his shop last year, and I dug it!

Actually, I'm going to have a "BURGER" panel done. It's going to be flat black with a Whopper airbrushed on it!

Really? Did he give you the copy of it and all, or are you just going from memory?
