It is out of a 2002 Camaro, the 98 is the same car so yes it will bolt right in. If you have four channel ABS all you will have to do is swap your brakes and it is plug and play from there being that it is a 4 channel rear.

Ther rear is complete less the backing plates.

JSPERFORMANCE 05-21-2008 06:43 AM

still have it...

JSPERFORMANCE 05-21-2008 10:51 PM

still have it

76bumblbrally 05-22-2008 05:55 PM

usp it will work with your car just fine i can walk you through it if you need help on the conversion i also have all the parts to go from 3 channel to 4 channel and have everything function

JerzyIroc 05-22-2008 06:02 PM

what would i have to do to put it in a 3rd gen?

step 1 - un bolt your rear
step 2 - bolt in this one
step 3 - hang your head in shame because you just wasted three hours of your life replacing one grenade with another except now your rear wheels stick out an extra inch

BigAls87Z28 05-29-2008 06:40 PM

Yeah, but he has 4th gen wheels, so part of step 3 he can rest at ease.
I might have a buyer...depending on if I can get a set of DR's for his car or not.
If I can, then the rear is as good as sold!! He's cutting 13.08's with a near stock TA (exhaust and lid) with crummy Dunlop street tires. 60fts are 2.1 range. Sub 2.0 and he's got a 12 sec ride, but I think that his rear end will rocket-fire the axles out the side....

JSPERFORMANCE 05-29-2008 10:17 PM

rocket fire... that cant be good..

Auburn in a 2002 Rear?

JSPERFORMANCE 05-30-2008 06:49 PM

The rear is as just as it was when I removed it from a 2002 camaro. The owner told me that as far as he knew it was all original. He is the original owner. I dont know if it is correct nor do I care because if someone dosent come and get this thing soon for the screaming deal of $150 then I will have no problem smashing it to pieces and scrapping it with the rest of my junk metal.

ever try posting while a thread was being deleted? it kept yelling at me.

JSPERFORMANCE 06-01-2008 05:46 PM

Ok, from the top

Will someone please come get this rear? I don't want its weakness to rub off on anything in my shop.. LOL !!!!!

Seriously someone come and get this thing I do not wish to own it anymore...

JL8Jeff 06-03-2008 12:53 PM

If you need to get it out of the shop, you can drop it off at my house! You can have a Flowmaster muffler back and Jardine muffler back exhaust in exchange! I'm getting tired of looking at them in the shed.

best offer I got so far but I will have to pass.. Thanks anyway Jeff!

sweetbmxrider 06-03-2008 11:08 PM

what kind of miles on it?

slasherbarb 06-04-2008 12:37 AM

just wondering...how much would you charge to install it for the buyer???

JSPERFORMANCE 06-04-2008 07:03 AM

It has around 70K on it.

Installation would run around $325 since the backing plates from your rear would have to be transferred.

alamantia 06-04-2008 09:14 AM

if it were a 3 channel i would have taken it but converting it is a pain, i did it once and its not fun, that why i was hoping it had the reluctor wheel already on it http://ls1tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=617761

JSPERFORMANCE 06-08-2008 06:49 PM

SOLD!

Thanks NJFBOA!

IROCdan330 06-08-2008 08:36 PM

so what is the condition of this rear?
