So who wants to hear some BS?????

So for all of you who don't know, last month I was planning on buying a 2008 Pontiac G8 GT. Well when I went to Coleman Buick Pontiac GMC in Lawrence, they gave me the price and it had a $2,000 mark up becuase it was a "rare" car. He also told me, that even with $3,000 down I would be paying $850 per month. So yea for obvious reason I went down the road to Dick Greenfiel Dodge and leased a 2008 Dodge Charger RT at $34,000. Which was the same price as the G8 before the $2,000 mark up. I put $5,000 down on the charger and only pay mid 6's per month for it. So the douchebag from coleman called me and told me that they would drop the markup and get me the payment I wanted......all this 3 weeks after I bought the charger. All this AFTER he swore up and down he couldn't do anything for me.......go figure.

thats a big lease payment.......roll a lot into it?

alamantia 05-20-2008 12:03 PM

There will be a G8 GXP next year i would have waited for that anyway. Charger looks better anyway.

ChevyQueen 05-20-2008 12:11 PM

Someone at my work just told me that yesterday. She went to look at one and the dealer was adding like $5000 to the car because it is one of the first 888 cars of the line. Needless to say, she left the dealership without the car too. I told her to wait until the GXP comes out.

Yea I traded in my 02 gtp and 02 z28.....I owed 11 on the z and they gave me 10 and I owed 12 on the gtp and they gave me 4 but at least now after a 3 year lease ill be free and clear

Iroc-z86 05-20-2008 12:58 PM

damn, i wish you were looking to get rid of that 02 gtp a few months ago, i would have taken it off your hands...my gp at the time had a bad trans and didnt want to fix it, so i screwed over a dealer and traded it in on my jeep. somehow i still got raped...ugh.

foff667 05-20-2008 01:00 PM

Yeah GM dealers did the same thing with the GTO which im sure you all remember. The dealers are fing themselves & GM over.

CamaroGirlie 05-20-2008 01:23 PM

As of right now I'm happy with my decision....I absolutely refused to pay that $2000 mark up especially when blackbirdws6 told me they didn't have one on the g8 he bought. The charger is a decent car and since I bought the rt its pretty quick. Plus It gets better gas mileage then the z did.

This is what happens when you do some homework. I have learned that delaware state dealerships have better deals. So if this makes you feel any better heres what a dealership has to offer. Depending on where you live it could be a 3 hour drive to save a few grand.

Its 15 city 23 highway but I notice on average I get 20 I usually can go 300 miles on one tank when in the z I could only go 250 - 275. Plus with the charger I can put midgrade when I had to put premium in the z. Which I don't thinbk is too bad for a 5.7l engine with 340 horses lol

98tadriver 05-20-2008 02:32 PM

does that have the displacement on demand feature, where it shuts down a couple cylinders?

i also noticed the charger has a 19 gallon tank, as opposed the Z's 16.8 gallons, you would see a lil more range with the charger, since the tank is bigger.

SteveR 05-20-2008 02:41 PM

you paid sticker price?

Yea it goes from 8 to 4 cylinders. Yea and the tank is bigger.....I can tell by the $58 a week I put in for gas. Lol

I have owned 7 cars in the last 8 years.....I don't keep cars long enough to actually buy them.....THAT'S why I lease lol

It's still cheaper to buy and resell than to lease most of the time....

all that really matter is that you are happy with your car.

procamaroz28 05-20-2008 05:57 PM

I tried selling the camaro for a year and no one was interested.....lot easier to just trade em in.....I won't keep a car long enough to finish the finance term to pay it off and sell it

G8 will suffer like the Solstice and GTO did before it. Pontiac dealers are dying for a good product, and they will rape and pillage to get what they can.

600 for a lease?
