got my first fbody wave!!

4th gen maroon camaro with a black taillight filler panel and chrome camaro letters. ttops i think. might have been an ls1, i was to shocked at the initial wave to see. sounded good, maybe magnaflows? on beaver dam bridge in brick. i don't think its anyone on here but maybe....:wavey: cuz mine was kinda a quick :headbang:

Slo86Bird 05-26-2008 12:09 AM

yeh! i got one like 3 weeks about but most guys dont wave! wtf!

madness410 05-26-2008 01:26 AM

hahah i have to start waving..it gives a real good sense of community. when i take my bro's lt4 vette out for a spin every corvette waves at you...

deadtrend1 05-26-2008 05:50 AM

Waves are usually only done by Jeep Wrangle/CJ owners ..... and motorcyclists.

1QWIKBIRD 05-26-2008 08:12 AM

Waves on anything other than a harley davidson/custom/chopper or kick @ss crotch rocket are :supergay:

They are the only ones (harley guys really, but I'll give some latitiude to other riders) I ever remember see giving the wave for the longest time.

Then vette guys started doing it....now f-body guys? Heck, I had a guy in a Cummins Powered Dodge give me the wave when I was rolling down the road in my CTD? Its one thing if you stopped at a light or getting gas or at WaWa, but on the road leave the wave to the bikers......its theirs

a little history

I've been waving since 2004 with my car. If someone else enjoys an F-body just like I do, I like to give a peace sign or wave outthe window, but Slo86, your right, more then half never wave back, but i dont care, when they do, it does give a sense of a community :D

Rich189 05-26-2008 09:00 AM

I dont wave unless the other car has something noticable aftermarket on it so i know they actually enjoy the car and dont just dd and thats only if i see them with enough time to wave.

sweetbmxrider 05-26-2008 10:35 AM

yeah i was stopped at a light and it was on a bridge so we were like right next to each other. i usually don't wave but i threw a quicky back. it was cool cuz i did feel the "community". wasn't all like ricer f u ya know

nj96z28 05-26-2008 11:19 AM

got a wave and a burnout out of a whire 3rd gen vert in rock hill, ny yesterday. the fact that he almost crashed the car while doing the burnout made it much more satisfying :)

r0nin89 05-26-2008 11:39 AM

Alot of people in other lifted trucks wave at me... Guys in jeeps always wave at each other. WHen we go out in my dads vette EVERYONE else in a vette waves.

jims69camaro 05-26-2008 04:00 PM

when i am in my camaro, the world waves. everything from '32 fords to '55 chevies to '70 amx to, yep, you guessed it, other camaro owners. firebird owners don't wave, they just hang their heads in shame that they didn't get a camaro instead. :headbang:

More like CJ / YJ / TJ and some modded XJ owners wave. Too many made-for-the-street Jeeps on the road these days (no offense Steve!). I get a few locals that will wave back to me, but most either ignore it or give me strange looks.

jims69camaro 05-26-2008 11:51 PM

kind of like i get in the KJ... 'course, if i get it built up the way i want it, i'll be able to hit the hills with those CJ/TJ/YJs. all i lack is money.

NastyEllEssWon 05-26-2008 11:55 PM

im more of a thumbs up kinda guy, but every fbody or badass car i see gets one

ar0ck 05-27-2008 12:08 AM

If I'm in the Z and the car is reasonably close I'll throw a quick rev especially if my windows are up. When I'm on the bike I'll do the low wave, or fingers up.

Jim, you've mixed up shame and superiority. Here is how you can tell them apart. Firebird = Flagship = Superior. Camaro = lesser sibling or, red headed stepsister = Shame.

Then if the Firebird is supposed to be the superior one, how come the Camaro's coming back and the firebird model is nowhere in Pontiacs sights? ;)

Well, I was joking but, I didn't make up the part about the Firebird being the flagship of the GM f-body, it's a fact. If you do some poking around I'm sure you'll dig that info up. As for the Firebird being nowhere in Pontiac's sights; Pontiac saw what GM was building for the new f-body and was ashamed to put their name on it.

Hehehe, none taken XJ brother! To me, as long as a Jeep isn't lowered on 13" Daytons it's OK in my book. I have solace in the fact that my Jeep is really more street-oriented, and not :rice:. Of course, when Jeep guys see my Jeep, they usually have this  look on their face.

CJDZ24_Z28 05-27-2008 07:20 PM

95% of C5/C6 CORVETTE OWNERS WAVE!! Thats another reason I love driving my Vette!

NastyEllEssWon 05-27-2008 08:24 PM

i kinda laugh at the civics that ride by...the vette drivers are usually old guys so i dont bother with em...and its true the firebird is the top model of the fbody crowd beings that the firebird has always been more FLASHIER and the camaro was more UNDERSTATED.

DaSkinnyGuy 05-27-2008 08:27 PM

last year I got a wave from a guy in a black LS1 camaro on Rt.206 in flanders, funny story I had my t-tops off and went to wave my right hand and ended up punching the T bar I never got to wave back.

01SS 05-27-2008 08:55 PM

Funny I should find this thread, just yesterday A guy in a 4th gen looked pewter with the single stripe in center and ground effects waved to me while cruising 47 in Glassboro. i felt like an ass cuz I was to busy eying the car and didnt notice the wave till it was to late. Upset me because I have been trying to keep the wave going and waving to all the camaro's. I don't believe it should just be left to the Harley Riders. When I was on my Harley I would wave to all riders as a sign of respect to all those who share the love of the hobby. So when I am in my Camaro I feel that even if it is someone who doesnt have all sorts of mods done, they still chose the camaro and I want to let them know they made the right choice. The girl who doesnt know squat about her car still is cruising in the camaro and not a mustang so good for her and let her know it - throw the wave. My car is a DD and I have slight mods and feel it is not necessary to start dumping tons of money into it to make it a racer(i have my 87cutlass to do that to) yet it is my 3rd Camaro so far, so you never quite know just how much of a fanatic that person is so - throw them a wave!!!
