looks should be last on your list when choosing a shifter

if you want looks then leave the stock one in there..

if you program your computer to shift at the perfect RPM it will be all more efficient then you shifting it manually, people just put in shifters because they wanna look cool

93Z = no electronically controlled transmission.

the lock up is still a function of the computer, if you take away the manual lever position sensor it will be affected..

I have the hammer shifter in the 98.

Unless the shifter chosen has provisions for a factory style gear selector switch, ie it tells the computer what gear you are in...I would rethink putting a shifter in the car. I speak from personal experience with a hydaulic trans (700r4), not only does TC lockup get affected (as Josh stated), but cold start, IAC perameters, and a lot of other things will be affected and tuning around it can be a huge pain in the ass...all from a shifter. However, if someone makes a real bolt-in product using factory electronics, that would be the shifter to choose.
