Going up against a Jeep SRT8...

Haha... Here we go again.

My friends insurance company totaled his SRT8 Charger. He is going to look at a SRT8 Jeep Cherokee tonight. What do they run? Should I not worry or do I need to call JS Performance about the nitrous kit?

i have no idea but i wanna see!

madness410 06-05-2008 06:03 PM

ive heard stories of one of those with a few bolt ons actually beating stock vettes

ImpalaSSpeed96 06-05-2008 07:42 PM

Don't matter which one of the cars in your sig you run, you're going to lose, especially on the street. Low 13s off the floor around 103 is bout dead nuts on. Colder days, 13.0s around 105. Tune/Intake, 12.6s around 106.

Ill give ya a shot at the TBSS for a measuring stick. I can just take out a stock JGC right now, Ill run bout dead on w/ a tune/intake one.

There was a red one at the track a few weeks ago that was running mid 12s. Pretty nice indeed :)

If he's stock(which he should be when you guys race) it'll be a driver's race.

maybe....but the awd automatic jeep adds a lot of room for driver error

Frosty 06-14-2008 11:05 AM

Very true. However, after looking at the guy's Charger and his bling bling rims I highly doubt he's into racing much.

Mike 06-14-2008 11:17 AM

this is true....lol

I'm assuming he's going to run the 13.3 LT1 car against him. I'm tellin you, on the street, it will be ugly. I give the JGC at least 7 car lengths. You better run DR's or slicks if you want to even have a chance.

Frosty 06-14-2008 12:23 PM

He's not running on the street is he? If they're running the street it'd be a different story. The race that was originally set up with the Charger was supposed to take place at Atco.

Mark, get some good tires and make sure you don't botch a shift and it'll be close.

ImpalaSSpeed96 06-14-2008 12:46 PM

Yea, on the track it will be a lot closer. You'll just catch him at the stripe if you do, barring equal R/Ts of course.

My truck runs 13.0s in crappy ass weather, you can figure the JGC should run a 13.5 in the same wx. I'm thinkin about goin to the track thursday if you wanna come play:)

qwikz28 06-14-2008 01:46 PM

i think you should call JS about that nitrous kit. not that i think you would lose, its just that nitrous is fun

Frosty 06-14-2008 02:02 PM

lol, what he said.

I've never heard of a stock one pulling a 1.6... But they are highly impressive off the line.

They also are not the fastest of the SRT bunch, on the street yes but not on the track. Most stock Chargers are pulling 13.3s, most stock jeeps run 13.5s, but some certainly go faster. One guy we know ran a 12.8 stock, but the DA was also -2500.
