ceramic coat stainless?

i just bought a set of Dynatech Long tube headers for my truck. They are bare stainless steal. Do you guys think I should get the headers ceramic coated or just throw them on and go? They are t-304 stainless steal.

You really don't have to, but if you got the extra money to spend then I would do it.

Let me know how those are cause I was thinking about getting that set for my 01 4.8 silverado.

For your car I would say do it. They won't necessarily rust but will discolor quite a bit if you don't.

I would not guess as to the ratio of how much stainless steel was in them, but I do know that the SLP brand did get quite a bit of surface rust on them. Go with the new CHROME look coating(inside and out)and forget about them EVER rusting or changing color!

Yea, I forgot to say that without coating they will turn a nice shade of purple ... :)

I figured that but these things were not cheap and I think its not in the budget to send them to jet hot , but there is a guy in burlington called Johsons Powder coating and he does ceramic coatings, I was thinking of calling him for a estimate to coat the headers.

I have a set of pacesetter long tubes that'll fit the silvy...they are not coated....$250

sorry for the hijack, and coating the headers is a good idea just to cut down on the heat under the hood
