Check Engine Light

I wanna do a poll for those of you who actually have check engine lights, is it on or off?? And if you don't have one, would it be on if you did?

V 06-14-2008 11:22 AM

my light is off, only comes on when theres a real issue or my car wants to tell me the stock tune still isnt cutting it.

69BirdX 06-14-2008 11:31 AM

Mine isnt on but the ABS light is thanks to the moser rear :) that reminds me i got to pass inspection in august.

Neither my DD or my 87 camaro have a SES light on. Both legitamately pass NJ inspection...

I prefer that my vehicles' work and run the way they were intended.

Mike 06-14-2008 11:43 AM

no ses light, but my trans am has an airbag light on

sweetbmxrider 06-14-2008 11:53 AM

no check engine light in my camaro, but the airbag light is on cuz the driver airbag ignitor is bad. i should probably fix that?

GP99GT 06-14-2008 12:16 PM

teh CEL is burned out in the mustang so...if it had one it would be on for EGR and AIR codes

79T/A 06-14-2008 12:41 PM

On BOTH cars, the Jeep and the family truckster (T/A don't have one...wouldn't be on because it has no engine right now!). Timing's everything...

bad64chevelle 06-14-2008 12:47 PM

Truck doesnt....the Chevelle doesnt either

Tsar 06-14-2008 12:47 PM

qwikz28 06-14-2008 01:01 PM

nope... but if the camaro didn't have the codes cleared, i'm sure it would be on

NastyEllEssWon 06-14-2008 01:04 PM

cdacda13 06-14-2008 03:02 PM

camaro2you 06-14-2008 03:19 PM

Nope, if it turns on i fix it and turn it off.

88Z-Man 06-14-2008 03:24 PM

Still goes on intermitanty on the Iroc. Just changed the ECM today but it did not help.

Savage_Messiah 06-14-2008 04:27 PM

Camaro - There's nothing under the hood to check

Benz - uh if it had one it may come on and say "hey ******* you are missing half your oil pan"

Malibu- nope

(car I borrowed til I fix the Benz) 83 Datsun Maxima - It would be, rustbucket POS misses a bit, backfires sometimes, rough idle, exhaust leak aroudn the cat...

foff667 06-14-2008 04:30 PM

JerzLT1 06-14-2008 05:07 PM

As mentioned above, when I pulled the computer out of my '87 the light stayed on....when the car was running.
