Roller Rockers
Im getting more confused the more I research rockers.
Currently I have a set of rockers that look like these. http://store.summitracing.com/partde...0&autoview=sku Im thinking of going from 1.5's to 1.6's for my build next week and dont know what will work im thinking of one of these two. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SBC-S...spagenameZWDVW http://store.summitracing.com/partde...2&autoview=sku |
Those are not roller rockers. Those are roller TIP rockers. You don't get as much of a performance gain from them (if anything).
Just my opinion but if you don't have the money for roller rockers by Crane, Comp, Harland Sharp, or one of the other name brands I'd stick with the stamped steel stockers. Cheap roller rockers are notorious for failing (C.A.T, Scorpion). |
Why would you not get an improvement ? Your adding .01 of lift greater than stock, so that equates to what like 10hp maybe? Thats still an improvement. Granted they are fully roller but if your not revving it past 6 grand I don't see why the need. You might as well get some Jesels. :-P

Showed a great increase of power using roller tipped 1.6's, after that they gained an extra 1 hp form going to full roller rockers. Still the 1.6 roller tip rockers are what im getting not much price difference,I think I need stud mounted ones, but do I get the 3/8 or 7/16 ones. & what about self aligning is that important? |
What do you do with the car? How high do you rev it? What are you shift points?

Its auto and I have no rpm gauge? Stock 700r4 rebuilt to handle some extra power nothing crazy. Stock stall converter. Right now im driving the car and just want to some extra power since im fixing blown head gaskets thought a cam lifters and matching rockers arms would be a great addition.

Then I would say go with SA, 3/8 1.6 RRs.

Gotchya im about to order some right now. I have a pair on ebay and a pair on summit, the ones on ebay look nicer but past lessons have taught me to stay away form the ebay devil.
