"Jersey Drive," a poem by ubg
This work came about from recent life events, and just life in gen'l. I want to give thanks to the bastards who inspired me, and to Bruce Springsteen for his body of work. I call this "Jersey Drive."
Jersey Drive Pulled the car cover off the AMX Engine fired on the second try Now I need to hit the road For a Jersey drive Hit the Turnpike Or maybe the Parkway To try to find a Jersey girl Who takes my breath away Cruise my home town Where I've seen some better days Everything I knew is gone But I guess it never mattered anyway Try to find America In the guise of a car show But all I see is Import crap How this happened, I'll never know Hit the highway and look around But no one looks at me People caught up in their own little worlds Outside of their boxes they refuse to see I roll out the miles From the top of Jersey, to the shore And let the emptiness of the miles Kill me a little more I've been chasing that Jersey girl For pretty much all of my life But she might as well just be a ghost And that reality cuts like a knife But the engine keeps on running And this AMX is all I have in life So I'll run today into tomorrow On my Jersey drive. |
I liked it Bob, cool poem!

nicely done UBG :) I feel that way all the time on the turnpike and driving locally. whenever I do see an fbody or non rustang/import its always on the opposite side of the highway.
