Speedo gear to use?

My camaro has a t5 and im putting 3.73's in my rear. Does anyone know what speedo gear i need in to put in the trans to make the speedo read right? any help would be appreciated!

You need a 15 tooth (gray) drive gear and a 43 tooth (purple) driven gear if running stock height (26") tires.

That's funny you posted this, I was just thinking about asking the same question till i saw yours. however I have 3.73's with a 700r4 and we have tried a couple different ones and its still off by 7-10mph.

The trans doesn't matter. Tire size and the rear gears are all you need to figure it out.

you mean rear gears right? where is the second gear? we replaced the speed sensor gear but its still off. and i tuned my car with a hypertech and its still off pretty bad. the faster i go the more its off.

Yea, rear gears....fixed first post. Both speedo gears are in the trans, one is attached to the speed sensor, the other is on the output shaft of the trans. You have to take off the tailhousing of the trans to change it.

ohhhh, that sounds like fun.

No big deal just a few bolts and some trans fluid spillage.

Here's a link to a speedo gear calculator.

Plus if you know what you need you can go to a GM dealer & buy them.
