Skip Shift?

As I'm looking for a t56 Trans, I also see a "skip Shift" what does it do? I mean, I figure a Manual trans shouldn't automatically shift..?

In low speeds instead of going 2-3 the transmission will lock you out of second and third, and force you to shift to fourth.

Yup. The transmission will make you shift from 1st to 4th.

there are 3 factors that it must meet to enforce the skip shift.
1) coolant temperature is 162*
2) vehicle speed is 15-21 mph and
3) throttle is open 35% or less.

supposed to add to fuel economy and keep it from getting a gas guzzler tax. can be easily tuned out with any dyno or handheld tuner, a plug-in harness from SLP, or you can make your own from radio shack for a few dollars.
