New Punisher Movie?

I went to go see Wall-E with the gf the other night, and I noticed a poster that had a skull on it, made with bullets.
I can only assume that this is the punisher. I dont know if it will be a re-do like the Hulk, or will this be another movie?

BigAls87Z28 06-30-2008 10:46 AM

Duh...should have googled it...

http://www.comicbookmovie.com/news/articles/4671.asp

HOLY YEAH this blows awayyyyyyy the last one.

This guy looks like the Punisher.

LTb1ow 06-30-2008 10:49 AM

I really liked the first one, I would have rather seen a sequel but hell I will see it.

jims69camaro 06-30-2008 10:58 AM

yeah, they seem to be in a race to see who can out-do the other movies made recently. i liked the hulk with eric bana, but they needed to tone down the CGI. i have not seen the new movie, so i don't know how it stacks up against the previous. i also liked the punisher, but it needed more of a story or at least a flowing story line - it seemed chopped up to me, and i hardly remember the story line even though i read the punisher comic books when i was younger. it has to mean something and it has to be presented in a format that works.

r0nin89 06-30-2008 12:43 PM

Is this what the film industry is coming to now? Just remaking movies that came out a few years ago? I really liked the one that came out a few years ago. I'd still love to see a sequel because hell, up until a few years ago thats what you did when a second movie had the same title and characters.

It just seems stupid. They are running out of ideas...

Btw this will be the third Punisher Movie I know of. Dolph Lundron was the Punisher in the mid 90's

Thank you! I was sure there was another one with ol' Dolph.

Hollywood = :horse:

Tru2Chevy 06-30-2008 12:57 PM

I also enjoyed the one that came out a few years ago....Hollywood blows for the most part these days.

Al - Did you enjoy Wall-E? Karen and I went to see if on Friday night, and we both liked it alot.

How was Wall-E? I just saw previews for it, looks really funny. Worth dragging steve to?

if he doesn't like it ill turn him your way :p I love pixar movies personally, so anything they put out i'll probably like. This looks like it probably started as a short and progressed into a movie

If he doesn't like it then I'll ban him...it's a great movie.

And speaking of shorts - Presto is another win from Pixar: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dV0v09U30eE

 agreed, both pixar jobs are awesome.

shane27 06-30-2008 04:57 PM

looks better then the last one that came out but still..."caaamannnn"

BigAls87Z28 06-30-2008 05:06 PM

Yes, it was great. Little social commentary mixed in with great animation and an overall really funny movie. Who would think that robots would be funny? Blair really really wanted to go see it, but Im not gunna lie...so did I.
I kinda liked Kung Fu Panda better. Jack Black is funny in cartoon form as well.

Blair actually wants to go see The Dark Knight too. Im very excited.

Hopefully a 3rd Punisher movie will finally make him as badass as the comic book was.

I thought the recent one portrayed the loving family man to vengeful killer ideal quite well. It did get a little soft towards the end.

I wonder if they opted for a new actor because the last one didnt want to do it or because they are truly "remaking the remake".

Yea the last one wasnt bad at all, but in the comic book, Frank Castle is like Rambo.

chevyt454 07-01-2008 07:40 AM

I wonder if the Mopar is in this one.

See I was never into the comics.

BigAls87Z28 07-01-2008 09:52 AM

The last one, the actor was too soft to portray Frank Castle IMO. But all those Marvel movies were soft like Daredevil, Electra, Ghost Rider, they were all kiddie stuff.
Whats his face didnt like the direction this new movie was going, and I dont think they were paying him what he wanted, so he bailed.
This new guy looks the part...

WildBillyT 07-01-2008 10:02 AM

I thought that the recent movie was a little soft but was entertaining at times. The fight with Kevin Nash is a classic.

jims69camaro 07-01-2008 10:06 AM

that's the thing, the actor has to be believable in the role. not like daredevil, but i did like the elektra movie. the hand (and his fingers) was believable. twists in the plot that you are not expecting also makes a movie enjoyable. it's not fun watching something you read in comic books 30 years ago (or more) and liked the comic book version better. lou ferigno (in the TV series) was good, but he wasn't ten feet tall and he didn't have enough muscle to be truly convincing as the hulk. it's a shame that one of the day's top bodybuilders didn't have enough muscle for the role, but that's how big the hulk is in comparison to other characters. i am still waiting to see iron man, as i don't see druggie rehab jr. as a convincing tony stark. just my opinion.

p.s. just like it's hard to swallow nicolas cage as johnny blaze.
