Wait does it have a 302?

GP99GT 07-04-2008 01:29 PM

well the 4.6 can be stroked to a 5.0...not sure if its a 302 or not...but he says its a stock block so no idea

ar0ck 07-04-2008 01:37 PM

Not for the 40K+ more they probably charge over a base GT.

SStealth2k 07-04-2008 01:39 PM

thats sweet

91DropTop 07-04-2008 01:46 PM

all we need now is a video talking about how fast it is and racing a 1989 corvette

GP99GT 07-04-2008 02:11 PM

that guy really bothered me...i dont think he really knew what he was talking about

Its a Saleen 302, not a Ford 4.6. Same basic engine design, but fully forged internals and Saleen aluminum ported and polished race heads. I got to drive the '07 550hp version and man that thing was quick. Its about 250 pounds lighter than a GT due to all light weight body panels and carbon fibre front and rear air diffusers. Six piston 15" front brakes stop it nice and quick. The twin intercooled screwcharger makes for good power while keeping the intake charge nice and cool, and because Saleen built a solid motor, you can mod it without having to worry about blowing it up.

Ok I was gonna get a little bent outta shape if they slapped a 302 name tag on it and it was just a suped up 4.6.

I remember seeing an advertisement when the new stang body style first came out. Was a yellow car with clone boss 302 stickers and such. Advertised as BOSS 302, first thing under the title, 4.6L v8.

So dumb.

Larry Shinoda, the creator of the original Boss Mustang, owns the name "Boss", at least his company does since he passed away. They did make a Boss Mustang when they changed the body, and they still make their own cars, much like Saleen, Roush, and Shelby. Right now they make the highest output American car ever, at over 800hp.

There is also a PJ edition that mimics the Boss 302 look. Saw one on the Parkway.

Ford is bringing out its own 5.0 and will be released a year after the refresh coming at the end of this year.

Yea, Saleen built the Parnelli Jones car to look like the car that won the Championship in 1970. If you ask me, $60k for a 302 car is a bit high.

Nah the one I saw was just a stock gt with paint, decal, and old style wheels.
