In a Week...

I will return a car that has been a large part of my life.
My 2004 Chevy Malibu Maxx goes back to Chevy. After 60k+ miles, the car has served me well. Getting on average 25mpg in mixed driving, carrying me on long trips into New England, Detroit, and Western PA. It has carried a lot of gear, people, and good times in it.
Many have mocked it, some may have loved it, but it was a good car. A true test that GM started to care more about passanger cars.

They are offering me an 08 with teh 3.5/4spd auto for 169 a month, almost 100 bucks less then Im paying now...but am going to hold off. I have thought about it, and unless the can come up with that deal on a the 2.4/6spd 2LT package with options I want on an 09...Its not gunna happen. The Caprice has filled the DD roles for now...so we will go foward on that, with perhaps looking to selling it all and getting ONE car. 8-)

After all the praising of the Malibu I'm surprised that you are not getting another one.

Tru2Chevy 07-08-2008 07:05 PM

We'll all miss the Maxxi-pad Al....

Did you talk to them at all about the 2.4/6spd 2LT?

BigAls87Z28 07-08-2008 08:17 PM

Nah...Im just gunna enjoy my Caprice for a while. Save myself some money.

12secondv6 07-08-2008 08:23 PM

Is it true?

I heard you are buying a Challenger???? ;)

BigAls87Z28 07-08-2008 08:39 PM

If im buying a Challenger, its either gunna be
1) Have tracks, a turret and a 125mm smooth bore barrel, on loan from the Royal Army
2) Buy me a space shuttle.

Why would I waste my money on an inferior car?

:hail: GM

BigAls87Z28 07-08-2008 08:44 PM

That, or unless you guys can hook up a brotha with a CLS550 for 250 a month?

LTb1ow 07-08-2008 08:44 PM

if you find a challenger that fits your bill of correctness, please share the info. I for one would love to have one.

baddest434 07-08-2008 09:56 PM

leases ftl i had a lease on a 98 malibu and it really wasn't a bad car at all. but i practically "bought" it but had to return it. all for a lower monthly payment. never again

qwikz28 07-08-2008 11:12 PM

this isn't surprising. you've been saying for a while now that your next new car will be the camaro.

JL8Jeff 07-09-2008 10:10 AM

Let me see if I can put this in terms you can relate to...

It's like beer - you pay for it, you only have it for a short time, you drink it, then it's gone. If you drink waaay too much, you pay more for it.

Wow...A new Mailibu for 169 a month? How much down? That sounds like a excellent deal. What dealership?

BigAls87Z28 07-10-2008 03:42 PM

Pine Belt. But ef those scumbags. They are some sketchy bastards.
I really wish that the Camaro was sold through Saturn.

Yea, that would be nice, but I bet even Saturn would mark it up

BigAls87Z28 07-10-2008 04:08 PM

They own a Nissan dealership too, a friend of mine bought his Altima from there, man they're scumbag crooks, at least their service department is.
