is it safe to drive with this?

As I was driving I thought I ran over a nail because I heard that distinct tapping. Once I parked JM and I found this...

lol .. just pull it out, since it looks like its just in the tread. If it hisses, then you shouldn't have listened to me ..

Best I pulled out of a tire once was half of a set long needle nose pliers. It was amazing to see.

sweetbmxrider 07-14-2008 08:50 PM

i saw a tire get pierced like this the other day! lucky. spray some windex first but it deff looks fine.

Teds89IROC 07-14-2008 08:53 PM

Yea, I def. got lucky, I figured I'd wait till the morning before work to pull it out when I can see what I'm doing. I wiggled it around and I didn't hear any air leaking.

bubba428 07-14-2008 08:59 PM

lucky bastard...thats close to sidewall

NastyEllEssWon 07-14-2008 08:59 PM

as long as the inner liner of the tire isnt punctured your solid
doesnt look bad at all. throw some soapy water on it just in case
watch for bubbles. im 100 percent solid that it wont leak though

edit: btw those gy integritys are awesome tires. compare the tread
to that of the gy assurance comfort tread. identical for 50 less.

what about the internal construction of the tire? i don't know but i'm just asking. tread isn't the only thing that gives you a "comfy" ride

Rub up against other cars that piss you off on the road.

UH...FAIL

The integrety is a BIG POS tire...sorry. Its only good thing is low rolling resistance, hence why Prius uses it.

Integrety and Assurance Comfort Tread are totaly different. How about the additional rubber cap that silents ride up to 20% then other leading tires?
The tread blocks, the tread design, everything is different. Mind as well be comparing it to the Tripple tread.

Ted, you should play some numbers or go to AC with that kinda luck.

bubba428 07-14-2008 10:09 PM

I hear that all, I used to sell them at sams club...biggest POS tires ever....flimsy as all hell

These tires are POS', if it's wet out I can't get traction for **** merging on the highway or even just accelerating up an incline. On the cruise I almost broke even in the casino but didn't win anything big. I'm also still waiting to hear about a job I interviewed at 3 times already since the end of May, so I dunno about my luck, things that are really important don't happen for me

BigAls87Z28 07-14-2008 10:17 PM

Alright well, could be worse.
And yes, unless someone just must have the Integrty's, I will move them to something else.

Biggest complaints is
#1- Rain traction or lack there of
#2- tire life
#3- handle like marshmellows.

For "$50" bucks more, the Comfort Tread gets you
2x the life (40k mile vs 80k mile)
10x the ride comfort
Not saying that the Comfort tread is the mostest awsomest tire...but Integs suck it hard.

BonzoHansen 07-14-2008 10:44 PM

Goodyears - good for a year.

bubba428 07-14-2008 10:58 PM

when you mount them on the wheel you can just tell they're **** by how much they stretch

Maybe he is talking about just the regular "assurance" but, in fact is still a different tread design and has a 65k milage warrenty.

as soon as I saw "comfort tread" was like... wtf?

What do you know about tires u have absolutley no tread left hahah

NastyEllEssWon 07-15-2008 02:21 PM

actually im pretty much a tire specialist. i know a lot about tires.

comfort tread < triple tread

there are two tires in the assurance passenger car line. the only thing different about the comfort tread and the integrity is that the comfort treads are a tad more quieter than the integrity.

but for almost 50 bucks less theyre a deal. ive worked all over and never heard of anyone with a PASSENGER car complain about the integrity. of course they shouldnt be on a fbody but on a prius you wont notice the difference between a comfort tread and integrity.

hahah camville your right, my tires are toast. also the reason i have a little red REJECTED sticker on my windshield. but they were bfg g-force's before they were toast. next tires for me are the sumitomo htrzIII
