Tuning software etc

Kind of a general question but I am looking to get some software and interlink to tune and monitor my engine. Its a 95 OB1 LT1. I would like to start learning how to "tune" it. Any program better than others? And what exactly can I do if I do buy a program? Sorry if all this is vague, I am kinda at a loss at this stuff, which is why I wanna learn.

LT1edit & tunercat obd1 are the only two that I know of for that application, then you'll need to purchase a separate datalogging setup as well.

So your stuff is only for OBDII?

Correct, our stuff pretty much does everything 97+ GM & some 05+ fords

I just started using TunerCat with the Moates Xtreme ALDL so I dont have to use my AutoProm all the time. That and freescan for the data logging.

Here is the cable
