morning from hell
well today is day 2 of my little 5 day vacation, i woke up early and set up the trailer and the ss to get ready for a quick trip to help out another member.....
drove over to joshes and got to the shop a little after 10, hung out for a little while and loaded up matts car, hung out a little longer and then left to take matts car back to his house....punch his address into the garmin a little after 11 and it says ill be there around 12:15, cool. off i go to edison, rt1 all the way back into jersey and then all the way up to edison, construction here, traffic there, pretty much an uneventful ride. pull up to matts a couple minutes after the garmin said i would and hop out to see............................................a flat on my trailer, i seriously didnt notice it AT ALL while driving, no wobbles, vibrations, noise, anything. so i unload matts car, park it, and hook up my compressor (tbss oem compressor FTW) and put some air in........it holds, so i go on my way planning to stop at pep-boys as soon as i get back on rt1. by the time im at pepboys its flat again, i run in, buy some fix-a-flat, and run out, while putting in the slimy crap i notice its coming back out the side of the valve, **** the valves shot, run back into pepboys and the kid says if i can get the wheel off he will change the valve. OK to be continued |
LOL, no good deed goes unpunished....
|
go back outside, jack up the trailer, open my toolbox...........**** my emergency tools are still in the pos civic.
run back in pepboys buy a $25 socket set, and a $15 dollar ratchet, run back outside take the wheel off, ***** the inner sidewall is shot....... at this point i give up, throw the wheel into the back of my truck, take a ratchet strap to the axle to hold it up to the frame, and drive home on three wheels. |
It's ok, Wayfast is paying!
|
2.5 hours after leaving matts house, i pull into the pepboys in princeton, return the cheapo tools and get my cash back, continue home.
now, 3 hours later, im home and my spare wheel is installed on the trailer. 4 new tires are ordered and 4 new valve stems will be installed |
Sounds like ****** vacation, sorry.
|
eh its ok now, i would have gotten it fixxed but pepboys wanted 85 dollars for a tire, trailer stores and the internet have the tires for the thing for 35 bucks each
|
