Strangely enough, Oppenheiser also claims that the automatic-equipped SS Camaro, which is rated at 400 hp, runs from zero to 60 mph in just 4.6 seconds and through the quarter-mile in 13.3 seconds.

Yeah right? Whats the deal I always thought that if you could drive stick very well youd only be a hair slower than an automatic counterpart.

if you drive a stick very well, you'll be quicker than an automatic counterpart. Autos rob power, manuals are meant to be beaten ;)

I thought I heard where the new 6 speed autos shift very quickly....

even with firmer/quicker shifts, by design the auto loses power over a manual. it's like a manual with the clutch engaged to some degree all of the time.

not bad times for the v6, can't wait till a real driver gets a hold of the ss.

GMHTP got a ls1 4th gen into the 12's with less power, I dont see why they wouldnt be able to knock off a high 12 with this car. if all else fails, let j0n drive it :lol:

We all know it is a tune away from 12s - just like the G8.

500 more pounds is why its slower.

Also 100 more hp....My mom's Suburban has 100 more hp, and more than 1000 lbs on my Explorer...still faster. :lol:

I'm not getting mad yet until A) More tests are done and B) It hits the track driven by every day people.

I'm still disappointed with it's weight. I still hate the interior lol
