*wink, wink, nudge, nudge*

i can play, but i haven't had a decent game in years.

Get a game going where it's dealer choice of game. Play 5 or 7 card stud, the cross, guts, 3 on the board and 2 in the hand or make certain cards wild. If you can get 6, 7, or 8 people to play and have each person bring something(chips/doughnuts/soda)and keep the buy in around $1.00 per pot you might have a friendly game. You'll need several decks of NEW cards and a good supply of playing chips. You could have a .25-.50-$1.00 and $5.00 chip. Then have everyone at the start of the game buy like $50.00 worth of chips. No smoking is a good rule because of 2nd hand smoke is not too cool for those of us who do NOT smoke. If you want to supply coffee or snacks, as the host you can usually take a $1.00 or more(from some of the larger pots)to cover the cost. Usually a Saturday night is best. Start around 9:00 pm and wrap it up around 1:00 or 2:00 am. Just my :2cents:

I hate dealer choice games. My family sometimes plays that ****, if I'm there to play poker I'm there to play Hold 'Em

Mike 07-23-2008 09:43 PM

yeah, most of our home games are tourney style holdem.......i dont mess with home cash games....no point in my friends and i passing around hundreds.......

in ac i play mostly 1-2 no limit and some tourneys

sweetbmxrider 07-23-2008 09:57 PM

my friends and i used to play dealer's choice or texas tourneys. we are all buddies so we keep it fair and fun. i have always walked away with more than i came with though....not that i'm good, i just know my friends.

foff667 07-23-2008 10:37 PM

I've been doing a couple free play games per week locally, Bills old tavern in hamilton on Mondays and Firkin tavern on Wed's.

Can't beat the price, better than playing online and you actually get to meet people.
