new iphone?
 

i was looking at getting one but now it sounds like a pain to have one with having to get the data package etc...anyone have one? i want to hear the pros and cons of having one..

anyone i know with one loves it, you just have to be able to foot the bill

who do you use now? there are some nice phones for verizon and such. my buddy got one, pretty cool. i don't think i would be a fan of an on screen keyboard. i need some buttons

i have at&t now...im eligible for an upgrade come early august and i was looking at the iphone. verizon does have some pretty cool phones ill admit...but my gf has verizon and shes always bragging about it and to be honest i really dont want to agree with her and take her side hahah.

yeah its like 30 for the data bill and 20 for my unlimited txting per month...idk if thats worth it or not. ill have to see all of the functions on the iphone...i really only want to use it for wi-fi though. i commute to college so it would be nice to have something like that in between classes

i wish i could do that. although my blackberry can use wifi my school requires a log-in and some weird download (i'm still skeptical about)

all the stores i've gone to, or called...are out of the new 3G iPhone....well considering it's only been like 2 weeks since it was launched....i guess that's normal

i been looking at the iphones, i need a new phone and that is waht i am getting. no question in my mind. now a thing you can do to it is "jailbreak" and you can get many aplications on it like video recorder and games and bunch of other stuff and all you do is download a program and everytime you update it you just wait a week and download the new one...my friend has been doing it and its amazing.

The new iPhones with the 2.0 software on them are able to download tons of apps from iTunes w/o jailbreaking them too. Some cost a nominal fee, but many are free.

That being said, I have my iPod touch jailbroken, and adding new apps with installer is quite entertaining.

i went to the store today and ordered it..they said it could take up to three weeks, but the guy said realistically it takes about 7-10 days. so ill be happy if i get it by the beginning of not this week but the beginning of next week.

now to look up crappy cases on ebay...anyone with an iphone have any comments on any cases?

if the bill is worth it to you as in you activley use the internet and so forth yeah it is worth it.
Since i got mine about a year ago now I have used it more for internet surfing than I do my laptop now days

as for a case just get one that protects the sides and back I have a leather case that the phone slips into and the front piece folds down when I want to use it and make sure to pick up those screen protectors they are worth it one will last about 6 months.

jailbreak = unlock as in use it on other carriers

you can buy the software online it costs about 80.00 last time I checked or take it to some one that does it and they normaly charge 40-50

ehhh not worth it IMO if something goes wrong you have voided the 2 year apple warranty plus firmware updates pas 1.13 have a 50/50 shot at bricking the phone permanently and then you are SOL and out 400.00.

Pretty sure that's wrong...Jailbreaking just means you can install 3rd party apps. Unlocking means you can use other carriers.

about the screen protectors...i thought those were "unscratchable"...youtube it...but does yours have scratches?

hahah wow i ordered my iphone last friday and it came today...after they said up to three weeks, and the dude said realistically it would be in a little under 2 weeks. so im happy. its more amazing than i thought.

another update: all people that work at the 'genius' bar at the apple store are all tools.
