Anybody need a lawnmower engine?
 

It was still running great last year but the mower has fallen apart around it. I think it was either a 5 hp or 5.5 hp B&S engine. The mower is still sitting in my shed so if anybody wants the engine, come and get it.

For a push mower I'm assuming? I may be interested as mine is burning more oil than gas at this point.

Yup, it's an MTD pushmower. The deck is rusting out and the handle broke so I had to shorten it (perfect for Kasey) but with the deck flexing the way it is it becomes dangerous to use. Engine has the speed adjustment cable unlike the newer stuff which is single speed.

I'm intrested too...... my dad thinks he just ruined the cam in his he thinks...... big stumps ftl :(

I'll get it fired up and running to make sure it's all good and first person to show up can have it.

that would make a cool entry level jr dragster motor

It's actually a 4.5 hp B&S engine but I put fresh gas in, cleaned the plug, added some fresh oil and it fired up on the 1st pull. It does burn a little bit of oil but not bad at all. It's actually a very quiet engine too. I like a lot better than our newer mower that runs WOT all the time. Let me know when you want to stop by Paul and I can leave on the front porch or side of the house.
