Pro 5.0 Anyone running a Pro 5.0 on their T5? How do you like it? |
little G had one on his 2002 V6. i'm pretty sure he liked it from what i hear |
i have one on my mustang...its sex does MGW make a shifter for GM T5's? theyre "supposed" to be even better...but the Pro 5.0 is awesome edit: i also had one on my 87 mustang, it was that good that i bought another |
I run the Pro 5.0 in my LS1 and the Hurst Billet in my LT1. Both are definetly a upgrade, the Pro 5.0 feels a little better. I don't know how to describe it unfortunetly .. lol |
from the stock T5 shifter to the pro 5.0 ive noticed 5 things: 1. its quieter 2. its smoother 3. shorter shifts 4. MUCH easier to bang 3rd 5. i beat on the car more  |
I agree with all of what you say Matt except about it being quieter. |
yeah......its loud, and notchy.......but it shifts fast and smooth |
well mine had a hurst on it before....and the hursts for the fords are crappy, maybe thats why it was a little quieter |

My son had one in his 1999 Trans Am Ram-Air when he bought it used. It was very BUZZY and metallic sounding even when driving it around town. He put in the Hurst and it made a difference(quieter)and seemed to shift just as well. I would assume IF you want to power shift 90% of the time, the Pro 5.0 will hold up better, but for the most part the Hurst model just seemed smoother! |

MGW is great. just put one in my car :jake: i'm quite certain they don't make one for the T5 though |
jake, what did you have before the mgw? |
B&M. the MGW has far shorter throws but is much stiffer and notchier. never drove a pro 5.0 but i never liked how the stick sat all the way by the passenger side. the MGW cures that without the need for a short stick. here is some pics- i forgot to mention that i also bought one of MGWs shift knobs. its in the pics. one thing i want to note that you can't see in the picture is that there is a screw on the shift knob so you can screw it into the stick and make it straight and immovable. My PRO 5.0 is not angled really. I have the UMI short stick I put on the Hurst in my LT1 brings it way over the left. |
tim, not that is angled, but is it closer to the passenger side of the console than the center? |

when my car is in FIRST, i can put a finger between the stick and the passenger side of the console, it dosent seem like it would fit, but it just barely does, almost touches in reverse |
