Sat 8/23 SLP LATE MODEL AMERICAN MUSCLE MANIA @ E-Town
I was talking to the guys at SLP today to thanks them for their sponsorship assistance at the Nats and to tell them about our fun in the rain. They mentioned they are going to be out at E-Town this Saturday. So I thought I’d share the info with the club. It is going to be real nice on Saturday too.

Must have Baffled Mufflers mufflers FTL i've went to a SLP day years ago everything was free. there were no trophies or monies awarded just free racing and the goodie bags were full of good stuff!! |
As described to me, this is an SLP day, like in the past. E-Town called them up a few weeks ago and asked them to slap something together to fill the void of nopi's failure.
|
POSTED THIS SAME THING IN THE LOUNGE AREA ON 08/18. SO FAR 44 PEOPLE HAVE LOOKED AT IT, AND ONLY "ONE" PERSON REPLIED ON IT. Must be real exciting. I guess it's because it's NOT at Atco or Island?
|
HaHa, I didn't even notice this was SLP sponsored because I didn't read into it enough. You should have put SLP in the title. Sounds a little like their old SLP Day which was pretty cool. I might head down since I haven't been to E-town yet this year.

Anybody go today? Good show?

VERY POOR showing. My son and I went and there were only about 50 cars that showed up, mostly late model GTO's and Dodge Chargers. We both had bad luck. I did something I haven't done in years and that was a RED LIGHT in the 1st round, and my son was off on his dial in and also lost in the 1st round. Of course because of the low turnout, instead of having a class for cars with street radials running 13:00 and slower, they lumped EVERYBODY together, so that Drag Radial class of 12:99 and quicker was also in there. My son had to go against a car that pulled off a .011 reaction time and that sealed his fate(he had a .144).

Sucks that it was such a poor showing, but if it wasn't for the last minute posts here I wouldn't have even heard about it.
Seems like E-Town and SLP could have made some effort to promote it, even on short notice. - Justin |
If you sign up for Etown's newsletter they sent around an email about it, but that's it.

i was there, ran horrible, 11.6, and f*ed up my transmission, had to get the car towed home.
