Atco thursday aug. 28

I'm heading down there with a few guys from C.I. to hang out, BBQ, and race. I'm taking the vette. If anyone is bored come by and say hi.

Rob

JerzLT1 08-25-2008 11:18 AM

i may come to hang out but no racing for me.

NJ346 08-25-2008 02:51 PM

I'll probably head down. I'm supposed to be leaving for camping in Cape May on Thursday, so I'll hit up Atco on the way down. I'll have to see if I can pick up a helmet by then so I don't have to rent one this time.

DadsZ28 08-25-2008 09:57 PM

I,ll be there.......with a little surprise  hee hee!!!

Jersey_TA 08-28-2008 02:06 PM

I'm still heading out with a few friends. No bbq though since a few are building sand castles

NJ346 08-28-2008 02:20 PM

I'll be leaving in about 45 mins so I should be there just before 5. Anyplace in particular you guys gonna be when you first get there. I'm sure as the night goes on I'll run into you.

ROB I HATE YOU!!!! haha jk, you jynzed me and I ran a 13.03 @109.78. So not only did I not get my 110mph trap speed I was looking for, but no 12 second pass either. lol I had fun though tonight and will definitely start hitting up Atco more often. I will get the 12second pass next time to the track, I learned a lot about slipping the clutch tonight. had fun. I'm drained from the 1 1/2 hour ride down to Cape May. I'll check back tomorrow for the pics.

lol, next time out I'm just gonna launch at 4k and pray to the 10 bolt gods. I launched at like 3400-3500 on the last pass and still only got a 2.11 60' so it's definitely got more in it and as I get more seat time launching and banging the gears I'm thinking this car is good for high 12.7s on street tires.

Demonicbird00 08-29-2008 04:11 PM

congrats on the 13.03 i was the the ta that you ran on that pass.

ive found that if you run a faster car, you will also get a faster time

I was just reading your other post about running a 12.22 and was like damn that car sounds like the one I ran. Anyway your car looked sweet. What size cam are you running? I'm thinking about doing a cam this winter after the current setup tires me and I'm looking to try and run high 11's with a cam so I'm trying to get an idea of what everyone is running.

Rob, if that's the case, get your ta back to the track so I can get my 12 second pass.

Brandon, that's a nice size cam. If I remember correctly the car is a 6spd right? I'm thinking a cam with a low to mid 23x/23x with close to 600 lift should get me that 11.99 pass I'm ultimately after. btw, nice hood!

Demonicbird00 08-29-2008 10:08 PM

thanks, yeah im 6spd.

you dont need a cam to go 11s, just a good setup w/ bolt ons

njnetsfan.........if you unhook the front sway bar for the night next time you go.....you will probably get the results you want without launching much higher

I was thinking about doing that since the car is fully stock suspension and I hear it helps with weight transfer. A lot of it has to do with me just learning how to drive it still. In a matter of 5 track passes I have picked up almost 2 mph in trap speed and almost .500 quicker Et's thanks to learning how to launch and quicker shifting. I'll be back to the track soon, I may throw a FTRA on the car before the next time out to get a few more hp outta the car.

How much does that realy help? I have heard this done but didnt think ti would do much. I guess helping the same way if you put 90/10 shocks in a car?

It's not as effective as putting 90/10s on, but it does allow the suspension to drop out more easily, which will allow the weight to transfer to the rear faster. You only have to unhook one endlink for the effect, or you could just take it off completely to save weight off the nose (if you really wanna go all out).
