GP99GT 09-10-2008 06:47 PM

hmm, can there be a thread about hockey without beating multiple dead horses at the same time?

In all seriousness I can't wait for the season to start. The Atlantic Division is going to be tight this season :)

sure they are........when they play the rangers :rofl::rofl:

edit: and you KNOW that no one in the front office in jersey wants to play the rangers in the first round

chemicalstylez 09-11-2008 08:03 AM

I was just reading my hockey news paper.... they have the Flyers finishing 4th...but still ahead of 2 other division leaders the habs and caps. Devils they have slabbed for 9th...they brought back rolston and holik, word on the street is their calling scott stevens out of retirement hahaha. GOD I CAN'T WAIT FOR HOCKEY, my season tickets came in the mail on monday!!!

Who else thinks besides me thinks that the Blackhawks will make the playoffs this season? :)

i think they finish 5th or 6th in the conference

GP99GT 09-11-2008 11:33 AM

personally i cant wait to see holik start hitting like crazy again

Untamed 09-12-2008 01:46 PM

Bringing Holik back was a wise move. Playing against the Rangers showed NJ that they can't win by finesse alone - they need size and good hitting as well. Unfortunately Holik can't carry a team, and there isn't anyone else besides Madden who has any real size to throw around. They need a 4th line center (enforcer) whose sole job is to get PIMs. Bring back Jason Arnott or Cam Jannsen. Jannsen wasn't that big, but man he finished his checks and could fight.

On the other side of the river, the Rangers lost a number of their good players. Some remain, but the team that finally got them to the second round has been shattered. Without that cohesive unit of experience I don't think they'll get as far.

Knipps 09-12-2008 01:50 PM

Janssen could barely skate, he was a fighter who just tried to stay on his feet

GP99GT 09-12-2008 03:07 PM

zubrus is pretty big, clarkson likes to hit, rupp, white...theyre all big guys but dont hit as much as they should

shane27 09-12-2008 04:04 PM

something tells me 37 year old holik wont be hitting like he used to
