Never forget...
7 years....it's feels like yesterday but feels so far away.
By now 3 of the 4 planes have crashed. I still can't imagine the horror everyone faced. I still can't imagine being faced with the choice of burning to death or jumping to the ground from X amount of stories up to your certain death. Never forget. |

7 years ago.. i still clearly remember the news coverage after the first plane, then the second.. then fighter jets right overhead partolling the airspace over and around NYC. Standing on the palisades and seeing first hand the smoke rising. My parents were suppossed to take german company to see the towers that morning, they had planned on leaving nj around 7:30.. would have been there by 8:30, but my aunt overslept and they decided to go another time.
That day changed many lives, including mine. Had it not been for the events of that day, i wouldnt never had finally joined the Army. Seeing that our country still does have a fair amount of national pride, gave me along with many others who have joined since 2001, during a time of war, a reason to fight. Many soldiers who enlisted prior to 2001 also give us newer guys a lot of credit. When they joined, it was peacetime and no real danger. Now is a whole different story. We know the danger, yet we accept it and move forward. |
:usa: Thank you to Paul and all the others who are out there risking their lives every day.

Ill never forget 9/11. I was asleep in my dorm room at William Paterson....a freshman....already scared and upset, when my suitemate came running in and told me to turn on the news the towers had been hit. As soon as she said it, I turned to look out my window in time to see the second plane hit the towers. Talk about shock. I rushed to call my mom, but since we were so close, the FBI had confiscated all phone lines. I couldn't reach anyone at home for hours. When I finally was able to, I got the bad news the one of my sisters best friends had died in the towers. It was the saddest day of my life.
RIP Janine Damiani-Jones 1972-9/11/2001 RIP NYPD Officers RIP NYFD Officers RIP Every soldier that has died in relationship to 9/11 RIP every person that was in the towers, pentagon, and the other airplane that crashed in Shanksville PA |

I was at the Phillies game last night, and they had a moment of silence, and had a bunch of people of the armed forces unravel this huge American flag, and 50 other service people were holding their State's flag.
