Pic from last night..

Went back to hoboken last night.. unfortunately I couldn't get near the spot I was at last year that had a good view of the water and not many cars around. This was the only place I could safely park, set up and only have a slight chance of getting run over.

Where exactly did you go? I found a good spot over by Stevens College last time I did night shoots down by the shoreline. But alas Last time I was in that area their was a ridiculous amount of construction everywhere blocking all of the good spots. I saw the lights on my way home from school but was way to tired to drive down their. Looks good though, it was a decent night out too.

That was right below Steven's institute, on a road that had previously been blocked off which was why there was no traffic. Everywhere else along the piers you couldn't find a spot, let alone one where there wouldn't be cars in it. I just wish the fence wasnt there.

I think I remember a good spot there. We'll have to scout it out for next year.

If you could think of a spot north (maybe in the city or somethign) where BOTH lights would be visible for next year that'd be great :) But then you drive, because I don't drive in the city.

I wonder if the ferry to Governors Island will be running. You can take cars there and take a pic of your car on the water just south of the site. That would be amazing and a unique shot. We need to look into that.

actually, bayonne's stop&shop complex is good, you get a great skyline and 2 lines

79CamaroDiva 09-12-2008 08:38 PM

thanks! ill have to look into it :)

SteveR 09-12-2008 08:40 PM

Another idea is to see if we can park the car on the side of the road next to the site and walk up on the overhead walkway that goes over the road and take a pic looking down on the car right next to the site.

SteveR 09-12-2008 08:41 PM

Or charter a cargo helicopter and carry the camaro over the river and take a pic looking out the helicopter window down on the car as we pass over the lights.

SteveR 09-12-2008 08:42 PM

Or pay to take a trip to the International Space Station and buy a 30 bazillion x lens and park the car next to the site and zoom all the way in.

If you're talking on the anniversary to get the lights in it, I'm sure the amount of people around will make it imposisble to get a good shot. Plus being that close won't give the same feel as having the skyline. But if you're talking about any random day, I'm down... never been to the site.

Or attach a rocket engine to the camaro and take a pic looking down on Earth while circling Uranus

Fire_Chicken92 09-12-2008 09:05 PM

OR don't and say you did?

SteveR 09-12-2008 09:11 PM
