Auto trans? Maybe. If it's an Olds 403 it might need a BOP trans.

Yea, you'll need a trans with a BOP bellhousing instead of an SBC bellhousing.

schwing.

Slo86Bird 09-20-2008 12:49 AM

so aparently the shape of the trans pan is a factor on wat car it fits on? thats wat a trans guy said and he said ti wont work... and said ther is no bellhousing on an automatic trans? sounds wierd.

NJSPEEDER 09-20-2008 08:56 AM

Trans pan doesn't really mean anything and I don't know what your trans guy calls the part that goes around the torque converter and flywheel and mates to the engine, but the rest of the world calls it a bell housing.

I don't know who you are working with, but it sounds like he is an idiot.

its not mine. its a friends. but i thought it sounded retarted too.

ROFLMAO. Well played.

You can by an adapter plate to mate a Chevy trans and BOP motor together...and vice versa.
