how much should i ask?

Assuming I fix my rocker arm stud and have all the rocker arms adjusted how much should I ask for my car?

1984 firebird.
92,000 miles on body
400sbc
vortec heads, mild cam, performer rpm intake, speed demon 750
th350 rebuilt by Js performance with around 100 miles on it.
3500 rpm t/c
UMI, torque arm, lower control arms and pan hard rod
greg weld wheels
new tires

after the rocker arm is fixed and the rocker arms adjusted it will need

horn, headlight gears, windshield wipers fixed(even though the car shouldn't be driven in the rain!) headliner, sub frame connectors, and a bigger exhaust(the engine is being choked by my 2.5 catback...)weather stripping along where the doors meet the windows.

so how much should I list this car for? I'm about to start applying to schools and I realized what my priorities are.

sry if this is in the wrong area but i didn't want to clutter the classifieds.

and if your not going to be serious, screw you

He had a small engine fire while installing an intake manifold a while back. As far as I know there is no current damage to the car from the fire.

He sold it to his mom so he would have money to buy a DD.

LTb1ow 09-23-2008 07:20 PM

Your mom wanted it? Wow... thats interesting. Whats exterior's condition?

WildBillyT 09-23-2008 07:21 PM

Buy it back and keep it. You will never get anywhere near the money you have into it back out. It's got a stout drivetrain but it's still an '84 Firebird (no offense).

his mom gave him money in exchange for keeping it off the road, lets not get his wording confused. now he has to sell it to pay her back.....

ar0ck 09-23-2008 07:24 PM

I'll give you $1,100 and come with a trailer tomorrow morning.

LTb1ow 09-23-2008 07:25 PM

Ah I see. Hows it run? Any receipts on engine work?

Arock, since i'm jealous of your camaro I'm gonna make this a bidding war. I'll give u $1,111:moon: haha j/k. I hear 3rd gens are broken more times than running so I'm probably not that interested.

Frosty 09-23-2008 07:29 PM

Wow, a lot of work went into that car, it's a shame you're selling it.

It just depends on the owners...some know how to keep them running well...others break stuff then blame it on other people.

i break stuff and blame it on myself! everything i know about working on cars can be attributed to me messing sumthin up on my 88 lol.

as for your 84 bird.... we all know what its been thru with ur ownership and the lack of ownership before you.... best bet would be craigslist....

NJSPEEDER 09-23-2008 07:39 PM

Since the engine is a mystery combo made out of unknown condition second and third hand parts and last I heard wasn't running because of a failed rocker stud. No over drive, beat 24 year old stock suspension, peg leg 2.73 peg leg rear, it is a rather poor brown paint job and a whooped white interior. Along with all the other misadventures and problems you have had with the car any informed shopper would be left wondering what else is wrong.

I wouldn't offer more than $1500 for it.

WayFast84 09-23-2008 07:48 PM

where the **** do you guys get your information from?

second and third hand parts? whooped interior? mystery engine combo?

lol. thanks for the funny responses.

as for what i said about josh, its over, get over it, you can talk **** behind my back in the basement all you want. In the end your still the ones wasting your time talking about me, on the internet....

so $3500 thats not that bad if I get real tight with tuition money, thanks!

edit

heres my beat ass interior...

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...9_129_full.jpg

wow, it needs some plastics, and a dash, its ****ing trashed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Slow Z 09-23-2008 07:49 PM

You'd make a lot more money parting your car out than selling it all together, I assure you.
