mmmmmm "new" heads

picked up a set of GT40 heads off a 95 cobra for $350 shipped...normally they go for $400ish without shipping, and i got a set of 1.7 rockers too that i can sell and make back almost half my money

differences are...

bigger valves. 1.78int/1.46exh on the stock heads, 1.84/1.54 on the GT40s.

http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/e...40heads001.jpg

bigger intake ports.

http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/e...40heads002.jpg

http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/e...40heads003.jpg

slightly bigger exhaust ports.

along with some improved runners. what this equates to, stock for stock...well heres the flow numbers.

im gonna do a little work on the GT40s with some help from an online how-to and get a little more out of them, but they should be good for a few HP, especially with the blower on there.

LTb1ow 09-25-2008 03:55 PM

Poly Locks FTW. And are you massaging them yourself or sending em out?

GP99GT 09-25-2008 03:59 PM

im gonna do these myself but im sending out the lower intake

BonzoHansen 09-25-2008 04:04 PM

negative ont he poly locks btw...these are pedestal mount rockers. torque them down and hit torque with a certain amount of lifter preload, kinda annoying.

Man those are pretty massive compared to the stock. The car should fly as soon as you get a chance to do all the work!

deadtrend1 09-25-2008 04:33 PM

didn't i see this before with your blue one?

That is true. Then again, so are most engines.
One day, if I ever finish my car, we'll run them at island.
