Go karts?

Are there any good indoor go kart tracks that don't require a drivers license?

I know of funplex, and velocity 17(need a DL)

Me and my friends are kind of bummed that keansburg go karts are closing down next week for winter, and all help finding a good indoor track will be appreciated!

SupermanX24 09-28-2008 07:58 PM

I think those are really the only indoor ones. There's always GP NY but that's kinda far

Mulletbird 09-28-2008 08:39 PM

There's a few I know of... mostly up in upper NY. I'll look for one in NJ for ya though.

Yep, I thought there was one just down there. That's where SJR went for karting over the winter last year ... I'll contact my friend down there (dunno his name, just that he drives a spec miata) and see if they're doing it again. Maybe we could get in on that with them, have a little friendly competition.

Maybe we can just pick a weekend and arrange a karting party :)

It is about an hour drive, I would be down as long as I am not working.

Mulletbird 09-29-2008 09:02 AM

I'd be down... haven't turned a corner DURING a race in about a year now, but like they say, it's like riding a bicycle.

Yes, just like riding a bike, if you forget to peddle your "friend" will come from behind and crash you.

WayFast84 09-29-2008 11:37 AM

Id be down to rent a track for an hour or so..I was going to get 10 people together and have a "birthday" party at keansburg go karts...

Off of 422? If its the one I'm thinking of then yeah, it's still open. $20 a race I think.

Savage_Messiah 09-29-2008 11:52 AM

Despite never having driven REAL go karts (cuz the ones at six flags, etc don't count), if this become a central meet I'd be down on a weekend

Slow96LT1 09-29-2008 12:14 PM

i love gocarts the one in wildwood i think are open all year i be down for a gocart meet

EchoMirage 09-29-2008 04:14 PM

you dont need a DL for V17. they have kids there all the time. they get slower carts, and are usually run in a group of all kids. check out their website. as long as youre whatever tall or of a certain age, you can run.

sweetbmxrider 09-29-2008 04:41 PM

if this turns into a meet, i'd probably do it.

hmmmm, I think someone needs to see if the EPFBA crew is interested. Maybe we can get a co-meet together :drive:
