COULD USE SOME FEEDBACK ON THESE WHEELS AND TIRES!

These are the wheels I am considering for my Formula, to replace the Black 16" GTA Diamond spoke wheels that are on there now. The are made by ROH and are 17" x 8.5 and they are staggared. The center is ARGENT with a polished lip that has the ZS RACING(in red and black) decal on it under the clear coat. Thought they would show off the detailed calipers and also be a hell of a lot easier to clean. What do you think of the swap(if I can sell my stock wheels and tires). I am also looking to put on a set of NITTO 555 Extreme up front and their Street Drag Radials on the rear. I only put on about 500 miles a year and don't drive in the rain and the tires are V rated. Anybody run there Street Drag Radials? I have 3:73 gears and it really is hard to launch at the track and spins the Goodyear GS-C's quite easily on the street if I punch it too hard.

Nitto 555R's are usually regarded as somewhere in between a good street tire and a good drag radial in terms of grip. I've never personally used them, so I can't say anymore.

I don't know how to use photoshop to put a set of these wheels on. Any chance you could do up a picture of a 3rd Gen RED FORMULA to see how they look. That would be awesome since I am still not sure how they would look on my car. Thanks, ED

Won't an 8.5 width leave you with an odd size for tire selection? 9 inch wide is ideal for 275's

I like the wheels alot.

Ages ago I ran the nitto extreme drag radials and coming home from the track I got caught out in the ran..... they were amazing!

They required a decent burn out (more than bf drags) to get sticky. But.... once they were worn.... they were useless as a drag radial.

I got about 12,000 miles out of them - including alot of racing.

If general street use and some track is important then stick with nitto's

If you want absolute traction all the time.... bf drags.

I've run both and each have their positives and negatives

What are you talking about ?? 7" rims are fine for 275's

(even put 33x12.5x15's on a set of 15x7 Furd Ranger rims)

I vote nice, but would have to see them on your car before making it final.

sweetbmxrider 10-01-2008 02:53 PM

i would but i don't have photoshop on this computer. its on my laptop which **** out so can't

The wheels are nice, but I don't care for that ZS Racing sticker.....that alone would keep me from buying them.

Here is a picture of the wheels with the SILVER PAINTED center with the machined lip. Looks darker in the photo. I really could use some help(some computer EXPERT) with a PHOTOSHOP picture of a RED 3rd GEN Firebird with the Argent center and then with the Silver center. Do you have a picture of your 1987 Mustang with the ZS RACING wheels on it? Any help will be appreciated, because they look good in my mind, but I would hate to spend the money and mount tires, only to put them on the car and say NOWAAAAAAAAY! Thanks anyone!
