Metallica

I was listening to the new Metallica song on the way home from work today...

WTF was that?

Master, Justice, Ride now those were albums, those 3 records made Metallica a house hold name... If they never put those three albums out, they would be another crappy band like Lincoln Park. Once the black album was deemed an abomination prior to every next record coming out Meltallica would say the same thing "we are going back to our old style music" why do they keep lieing to me? How do you get progressivly worse with every album? When I do things after a while I tend to get better at them.

GP99GT 10-02-2008 03:37 PM

uhhh...death magnetic > st anger, reload, and load

ins0mnia24 10-02-2008 04:01 PM

I have only heard one song on the radio from the new album
I didn't think it was that bad besides maybe needing some Reverb or Delay on the guiter solo
But that is comparing it to their previous few albums..
They certainly arent like they were when they used to play 4 hour shows like back during the And Justice For All tour though..

band77one 10-02-2008 04:07 PM

if u dont like the new **** dont buy the album, dont ****ing listen to it, and stop ****ing bitching. jesus christ. all people do all day long is bitchbitchbitchbitch

GP99GT 10-02-2008 04:08 PM

the song theyve been playing on the radio "the day that never comes" is by far not the best song on the album, but its not bad either

Give me some names of a few tracks that worth getting off of the net..

Stroked355Z28 10-02-2008 05:04 PM

I like "The Day that never comes", but a song that sounds more like old-school Metallica is called "Cyanide." Check it out. -Jeff.

maroman88 10-02-2008 05:08 PM

i like it and i bought it lol

r0nin89 10-02-2008 09:43 PM

I bought it.

Cyanide is definately the most old school song. Judas Kiss is pretty old school too. How could you say the day that never comes isnt old school metallica ish? That song has the same qualities that One does. Just listen to it a few more times and you'll like it more and more each time.

I happen to like this album ALOT. The unforgiven III is a great song, I've always liked I and II but just musically (not taking the whole this isnt old school metallica thing into consideration.)

I think alot of the other songs like Nightmare Long are a mix of different styles. I think at times that the rhythm sounds like load and the lead sounds like and justice.

Give it a chance, it isnt COMPLETELY thrash old metallica but its definately worth the purchase. And thats coming from a guy whos favorite song is Trapped Under Ice.

BigAls87Z28 10-02-2008 09:49 PM

All Nightmare Long is killer,
Broken, Beat and Scared is awesome
Cyanide
All very good, and very loud.

the Day that Never Comes is a very moving song, its powerful and it moves around a lot. Its the best overall song on the album.

Okay listen to the instrumental it will grow on you as it builds. Also nobody mentioned my favorite the Judas Kiss

BigAls87Z28 10-02-2008 10:28 PM

Not a fan of Judas Kiss, but its very old Metalica no doubt.

ive heard them play a decent amount of the songs on channel 20 on sirius, its definitely way better than st anger but doesnt even touch their old stuff. i have to listen to the songs a few more times to see how i feel about it. i dont think load and reload are that bad, theres some pretty good songs on them.

HardcoreZ28 10-03-2008 06:41 AM

All Nightmare Long is by far my favorite song on the album. It's been years since any song has come out that makes me want to pound the steering wheel and run people off the road for fun....and this does it. So if anyone see's a Blue 1500 pickup with a suspension lift and 35's out of control...don't worry....it's just me having fun.

same here. i could put this song on repeat and just drive for hours

alamantia 10-03-2008 11:43 AM

I downloaded some of those songs, they need to retire. I knew after watching some kind of monster that it was all down hill, I cant believe i waisted 2 hours of my life watching these guys cry in an old army hanger, then Dave Mustaine comes by for a good cry? These guys need to shake the sand out of their vaginas and make some music. At least I have Master, Justice and Ride i can get by with those.

GP99GT 10-03-2008 11:45 AM

dont be bitter cause the rangers lost 2 games to the devils already

alamantia 10-03-2008 11:50 AM

And to think, Mustaine was a member of Metalica in the beginning, and after they got signed, they got him drunk and put him on a bus home. Megadeth's newest album "United Abominations" is way better than "Deth Pathetic"
