Trans am has been at dealership since monday night...
Monday night i was getting japanese food and i came out and the car wouldnt start. Put the key in the ignition, turn the key the instrument cluster wouldnt turn, but the radio was on. My headlights worked, put my foot on the clutch to start it, doesnt make a sound and the radio turns off. So i start looking at fuses. I overlooked the instrument cluster fuse, but if a fuse goes any how there has to be a short. Well i was on break for work so i needed to get back.
I had AAA send out a tow truck and pick up the car. that was monday night at 11pm finally when the truck got there. Tuesday afternoon they tell me it was the instrument cluster fuse and send me on my way. The car has a warranty because i got it in july at a dealership. So off i went, drove to the appartment, parked for the night, drove to school weds morning. attempted to start it at lunch break to get food and the same thing was happening. So had AAA once again send a tow truck and bring it to the dealership at 10am. Car was in the shop the rest of weds, all day thurs and friday. They have talked to GM, feel its resistance coming from someone on the instrument cluster panel . So they put a smaller fuse in to see if it would blow for them to know if its the instrument cluster panel. So far after several test drives nothing. ( i hope they been driving my clutch good ) So as it sits now its still at the dealership, they have 8am-4pm tomorrow to work on it, if not this continues until sometime next week. Its been a pain, my roommate drives me to school but then i have to find a way home. happens ive been talking to a nice kid with a 2001 mustang GT that drives me back. Im so bored with out the car and being that i have the weekend off of work, without a car. I hope it doesnt get moved for the pic http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n...29082253-1.jpg |
no car sucks! hope they figure it out

try to get a cheap cluster somewhere if they give the car back to u and say they cant find the problem yet. swap the cluster and go from there, the cost will be worth it if avoids the car sitting at a dealer till they decide what to do about it

When all else fails, TAKE A PICTURE OF IT. Really nice background lighting. Now what you should do, is dump that pig and get a nice 3rd Gen, say somewhere around 1992 with a 6 cylinder. You don't have to worry if somebody will "Drive Clutch Good"(get an automatic)they burn regular gas and they photograph very well. Now where could we look for one, hummmmmmmmmmm? :tta:

also, reminds me of when my SS threw the first balancer... i managed to get it right by a dealership, but then had to push it into the road to wait for the tow truck to take it home since i realized i could fix it myself, but i had my camaera with me so i decided to take some shots.... broken cars and pictures, thats what im all about lol.

Could it be VATS? The chip in my key is wearing out and I've had a few problems like this before.

hopfully they gave you a rental car....
|
I would tell the dealership you wanted a loaner vehicle since they are the ones unable to fix yours. There is no reason for you to be without a car because of their inadequacies.

If there's provisions for a rental car in your warranty contract they can't deny you a rental based on your age. I'd take full advantage of it.
