Those poor 20'' tires are going to go up in smoke behind that motor lol
|
no pricing though eh? sounds really sweet. wish i had a high paying job  maybe for 2011's z28
|
Al's asleep on the job, he's too busy bashing the Challenger to post this up.
Thanks Paul |

Maybe this has been discussed already, but are they ever going to bring the Z28 model back with this new camaro?
Also, why are car companies releasing these sports cars with such big tire/wheel combinations? I mean I have 18s on my camaro, but they look good and look more like 17s. These new wheels just look way too big. |

the Z28 model will be available in the second model year 2011, and will offer a 6.2L v8 with a factory supercharger(similar to a detuned LS9). Magnetic ride control is also said to be an option. |

... roof ditch... molding?!?! wtf?!?! |
Sorry, I have been moving into the new house, havent been on the internets.
The 15 Deciples pushed hard for a decontented interior for the SS, so 1SS gets you cloth seats, no aux. guages, seat heaters, etc etc. Roof ditch molding, where the sides of the car meet the top of the car, is normally black. It will be body color, thats all. Its a cosmetic thing. Z28 is also being rethought of....I dont want to see the LSA, I really dont. |
Al.. whats the current stance on the z28 in that case then? like motor wise
|
whats magnetic ride control????
|
Too bad there is no more 1LE trim :(

Rumor is that they are "rethinking" Z28 due to CAFE and budget concerns as well as enthusiast outpouring. Some dont want a LSA motor, some do. IMO, Id rather see 200lbs off the car with a larger cammed LS3 making 475hp vs 4200lb supercharged Camaro. Quote:
No, the shocks are filled with a hyrdaulic fluid that has millions of iron particles in it. There is an electric current that passes through the shock, instantly changing the stiffness of the shock in a matter of millaseconds. Caddy first used MRC systems on the Seville STS and C5 Corvette. Before, it was assumed it could not handle the abuse of a track car which is why the Z06 did not get it. But Ferrari proved them wrong when they redesigned it for the new 599 GTB. The Corvette ZR1 was the first performance application by GM to use it. It offers smooth standard C6 ride in touring, but then stiff track-ready suspension when in sport mode. CTS-V also has this system. Its starting to become THE suspension system as now Audi has used it for the TT and R8. |
Think they'd let me order an ss, stick, with manual steering, and power nothing like the old days?? :D
|
i guess ill just wait til jan 2010 to decide what ill get, if the z28 is available thne, ill go that route, other wise itll be a 2011 RS/SS with every option (minus polished wheels and sunroof)

Yes, the magnaride has been an option on base Corvettes since the C5. But this is a more aggessive system, designed to handle track abuse.
Pricing seems to be spot on. 23k for LS, SS around 30k. Not bad overall. They did a hell of a job. 1 and 2 LT package will be the big sellers. |
any word of base model vert pricing?
|
I think they nailed the pricing too. Of course everyone wanted a 25k SS camaro, but we all knew that wasnt happening. Now I gotta start calling dealerships to find out which ones arent going to try to rape me with "market adjusted pricing"
|
pricing looks sooo affordable! i need a better job
|
looks like a fully loaded RS/SS id choose would be around 38... not bad
now to wait to see IF the Z28 will live again, and im guessing maybe another few $k, so $43 or so... i can live with that... |
