Getting royally porked!

So I think I'm getting scammed by a company for parts. I ordered a Fiat/Motul race bike replica fairings for my 2008 Yamaha R6-S through a company called Cali Cars & Bikes http://www.calicarsandbikes.com/. I did some light research on the company and the general consensus was that the parts were relatively decent quality considering they were aftermarket from Hong Kong (as the saying goes "you get what you pay for"), but they had a reputation for not being the fastest shippers. Well since the bike was still in pieces after a low speed slide I bit the bullet and said by the time the fairings come I should have a majority of the bike back together. I placed the order on the night of September the 2nd which was a Tuesday. I checked the order status that Thursday and it still said processing so I caught Cali Cars & Bikes on AIM messenger, so I asked what the expected time frame would be and they quoted it for 15-17 days and should arrive around the 20th of the same month. I thought nothing of it and when the time came for the fairings to arrive my bike had already been completed and completely drive-able (fairing-less) so I emailed the company through their contact us section on the site on Thursday the 18th in anticipation asking for a tracking number so I could make sure someone was home when the fairings arrived so they wouldn't sit on my front steps (or backyard if its my friendly UPS driver) Well that night I got an immediate response from Rebecca Ortiz informing me the fairings were delayed for back-orders and it would be another 2 weeks to arrive. So I responded politely if I could receive a tracking number when the eventually do ship. I got a response the following week on the 23rd stating:

Hello Alex
I just wanted to give you an order update, your kit was schedule for pick up Thursday of this week. Unfortunately it will not be ready until a week in a half. We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Well 2.5 weeks have passed and it’s already been a month and a few days since I placed my order for the fairings. I've emailed the company twice and have not received a response since that last email on the 23rd. My credit card statement arrived and it showed I was billed on the 3rd of September for $757.00, so the order was obviously processed, but I'm still here empty handed. I've tried to call the company and it just rings doesn't even go to the answering machine. I've emailed both the available email addresses provided on the site. I'm starting to think I got ripped off. I've already contacted my credit card and shared my story so that if I don't get a response or a package by the end of this week I'm putting a stop payment to Cali Cars & Bikes.

I would never conduct business with them ever again & I would advise anyone who's considering it not to waste their time. I wish I spent the extra $100 and went with the other EBay Company. I might even buy blank fairings and have my own custom paint job done too. I've already posted this on a number of other bike forums that this company sponsors, but what else is their that I can do?

Tell them you will report them to the California Attorney General. Or actually do so.

I had a similar problem with the place I ordered my T/A fin through. They wouldn't return calls or emails. I think it took them 3 months to ship it. Eventually they called me to verify my shipping address and I had it the next day.

I did call and talk to my credit card company tho, was getting ready to put a stop payment on my order.

that sucks, I would just keep the CC company informed of any updates and do what Bill suggested.

when i had my quad delivered from ohio that happened to me. didnt return calls, kept making excuses and said their trucks broke down or flat tire or whatever they said. it was supposed to be 10 day delivery as they had other stops to make...took a month and a half. so we didnt pay them and would never reccomend them to anyone. i believe it was a1 vehicle transport or something. they suck at life. for that i woulda rather drove to ohio and picked it up and wasted 3 days rather then sit home everyday they said they would be there to get tbagged over and over.

maybe they went out of business or closed down?

Just got off the phone with the company... Apparently it might have already shipped but they can't get me the USPS tracking number at this time and the manager is in a "meeting"

Its the same lame-o excuse I had to give when I worked at QTP.
